On Saturday 20.7.2019 we headed to Montaž from Planina Pecol. At 5:30 we start walking, meeting marmots on grassy slopes and chamois a bit higher at the entry to the rocky section of the path. 08:30 we're at the summit. Rarely anyone shows up at such an early hour. Sky clear, even the highest Slovenian peaks visible with Triglav leading. We want to go to Špik Hude Police via the Left. We miss it and end up on an unmarked path towards Vrh Brda. We continue to the top on an unpleasant steep path. We head back, big crowds barely on the ascent yet, on Pipan's ladder it's quite packed. We continue descent, find the path to Špik Hude Police but due to clouds and poor views we go to the valley instead. Junction for Špik Hude Police practically invisible. Italian markings very poor also on the Montaž ridge. Some sign or note on the rock wouldn't hurt. Helmet mandatory!

Kotliči are repaired and well protected. They are very varied and interesting, so I would recommend the ascent from Kamniška koča to Turska gora as a super tour. For the route Dom v Kam. Bistrici - Cojzova koča - Skuta - Turska gora - Kamniška koča - Dom v Kam. Bistrici we needed 12 hours, of which 10 hours walking and 2 hours rest. It's true that we are physically excellently prepared. The path can be shortened if you leave the car in Kamniška Bistrica somewhat higher, say where the cable car path crosses the path to Jermanco, there's a nice spot to leave the car. In any case it's crucial to start very early on the path, since you're always in the open and the sun doesn't relent. Lp

On Thursday 9.8.2018 I did the tour Dom v Kam. Bistrici - Cojzova koča - Skuta - Turska gora - Kamniška koča - Dom v Kam. Bistrici. The tour is long and quite hot, even though we started walking at 05:00. We chose tours from this side mainly because of the easy and quick descent from Kamniška koča, especially the scree that shortens the descent considerably after such a long tour. Otherwise, I would recommend doing the tour in the reverse direction. Skuta from Cojzova koča is quite easy, the descent from Skuta to Turska is quite crumbly, you really need to be careful not to trigger rocks on those ascending to Skuta from Žmavcarji, for example. Then again an easy ascent to Turska gora and again a quite demanding descent to Kamniška koča via Kotliči, which are well protected but definitely easier to ascend Turska via Kotliči than to descend. SVK might be useful at Kotliči in certain sections, we didn't have it with us. Otherwise an immensely beautiful tour. Best regards.

Hello. I want to do a circular route Dom v Kam. Bistrici - Skuta (via Kokrsko sedlo) - Turska gora - Kamniško sedlo - Dom v Kam. Bistrici.
I'm mainly interested whether it would be better in the opposite direction and especially what the path between Skuta and Turska gora is like, do I need a via ferrata set. I'm also interested in the path via Žmavcarje, which I would choose before the path via Kokrsko but I'm afraid I'll get lost nasmeh

Hello!

Planning a hike to Križ from Aljažev dom in Vrata past the bivouac at Rušje, then to Stenar and overnight at Pogačnikov dom. Second day hike to Razor and descent to Vršič. Wondering if the path is normally passable without winter gear or if the snowfields are avoidable?

Thanks and best regards

I too was with a buddy on Špik on Thursday 18.6. To summit from Krnica, descent over Kačji graben. Path and views are exceptional, most important for this route is good fitness.
