Flashes of winter sunsets.

Yesterday winter tour to Peca. Topla-saddle-Kordeževa glava-Knipsovo sedlo-Topla. Whole path in snow. Surprisingly much snow. Path trampled, track even up to saddle, warm sunny top, fog all day below. Circular trodden in steps, gaiters still good. Many visitors yesterday.

In the climbing section a large part of the path is rough and dry. In between there are parts with snow and ice.

Wind spiced it up, but it wasn't too bad for taking pics of the views

On Saturday, a circular tour to Peca peaks. Topla-Knips Saddle-Končnik Peak-Velika glava-two intermediate peaks-Kordež Head-Mala Peca-Topla. First part of trail to Knips Saddle mostly bare. Middle part frozen snow. Crossing the tongue before exit to Knips Saddle has steps made. Snow on peaks mostly held my weight except a couple of sections of direct ascent to Velika glava. Descent from Mala Peca, upper part frozen snow. Below mostly bare.

Best endings of the day are on the mountain.

Yesterday before dark on Uršlja. Up and down via Kozji hrbet. new snow on top about 20 cm, drifted more in places. Pulled a track up and returned on the track.

Silvester Vošca. First time on this peak. Weather warm, sunny, real beach on top and fairy-tale views. From Srednji vrh on foot to Jurež farm and directly up to the peak. Path very steep and quickly gain height and views. Snow was quite crusty and sinking a lot in places. Path itself nicely followable by tracks of predecessors.

On Wednesday first time on one of the most beautiful peaks in Karavanke. From Srednji vrh on foot to summit and back. Through Jerman stream valley and along Železnica to saddle and summit. Path is gorgeous not speaking of weather and views, all for 10 rating. Path tracked and nicely traceable, last ascent sunny but nicely passable. On summit warm, no wind and views far around.

Yesterday to Dovška Baba from Dovje on foot to the top and back. Path surprisingly poorly marked for SPP, up the marked one with some effort, descent by road. South-facing snow, especially arduous last ascent. Summit misty, views very nice despite quick clouding.

Yesterday from Podpeča to Peca. Trail without special features, but the wind spiced up the tour, providing snow spindrift and stability test. When I was at the top it even overturned the bench and finally tore off the flag. View in all its glory. In between where the wind blew away snow there are also bare parts of the trail.

Touring skiers usually go up the road from the direction of Križan or Naravske Ledine.

Still some Friday and Saturday ones. Not filling up with snow yet for this time of year. Had to work hard especially on Friday. And now a new batch of snow.

To the classic starting point - Ivarčko Lake without problems, dry and plowed.

Yesterday before dark on Uršlja gora. Snow around half a meter. Up and down on the Železarska path, fully snow-covered, lower part a bit less, from 1100 up real winter. Had to work to the summit, well drifted and wind building more drifts. Nice views and red-colored sky.
