Hi, has anyone been from Lepena to Krn Lakes? What are the conditions, is the path icy, are crampons needed?
Is it suitable for a 7-year-old child?

Walking on the ski track is allowed. With snowshoes easier.

On Saturday I was on Krn. Conditions excellent, even a bit too warm. Summit visited by about 15 hikers. Snow almost none except under the summit, crampons and ice axe not needed. Where you had to step on snow, you could sink up to your butt.
If it cools down and freezes, better have crampons and ice axe with you.

I'm thinking about going to Krn tomorrow, but wondering if there's avalanche danger, slab slides etc. due to high temperatures. We don't have much experience with this.

Please give opinion and advice.

On Sunday I plan to visit MM but does anyone know what the conditions are for hiking (is there a track, icy, avalanche danger...?) or is it possible to ski something already?
