Does anyone know if the path to the Krn Lakes is at least partially dry?

We went to Krn Lake from Komna and on the return climbed Bogatin and Mahavšček too. The path is pleasant and safe, just sometimes don't rely on the signposts as they are the same for different distances. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.si/Kategorije/Novosti/krnsko-jezero-1

When I started from home, the webcam above Bovec showed nice sunny weather, when I got to Lepena it was lightly raining, above 1000m it was lightly snowing. Then it eased and cleared up. To Krn Lake there was not much sinking. Back towards Velika Montura, first mostly on top then started sinking more and rotten snow below. Turned back above the military hut.

On Monday in beautiful sunny weather from Lepena to Krn Lake. You first step on snow after you cross the cable car for the last time, from the upper station of the cable car it's more continuous, but it also runs out in between. The snow was soft, so winter gear wasn't needed. Quite a few people, also foreigners. Apparently the hut was open, but I didn't go to check.
On the way back I ran into a viper, or I think it was a female, I crossed her path. And I think, why me exactly, so many people have already gone past there zavijanje z očmi For a second she took a defensive position to bite, but she changed her mind and went back into the grass. I didn't photograph her because I was watching where the dogs were so they wouldn't approach her accidentally. So yeah, snakes are already out, and obviously they're a bit tipsy velik nasmeh On the other side of the lake for a few moments I spot a chamois that trotted down the shore and then hopped off to the opposite shore. We really caught a wonderful day nasmeh

But the view didn't impress Beani as much as the sinička in the nearby spruce :)9

@Enka, then just follow the path under your feet, you won't regret it mežikanje
For comparison, 10 years ago on this day, the scenery was completely different, especially much snowier nasmeh

Is the lake making any sounds? A few years ago it was a bit more wintry than now, but much less than 10 years ago, the ice was cracking and that released such insanely good sounds. I can't describe them, but it was magnificent. And yeah, no doubt it will tempt menasmeh

No, not this year, not 10 years ago either. But one year in winter I was at Black Lake, which did advertise itself, so I know how the advertising of a frozen lake sounds mežikanje

Nice report and thanks for the information.
I'm wondering if the "snakes" have already arranged for collecting parking fees in Lepena at the Klement Jug hut?

@vitan, for now parking is still free, there has been no talk of any parking meters mežikanje If only it stayed that way as long as possible.

In four days, quite a bit of snow has melted, especially all the ice from the lake. The toads are making good use of that, mating in large numbers in both lakes; Dupeljsko Lake is particularly livelynasmeh. I suggest tying up your dogs, as a close encounter with a toad probably wouldn't be pleasant for them. I leashed my little bitch at the last moment; she was very, very interested in what was swimming in the lakenasmeh. But we also scared a (presumably) black snake on the shore so much that it jumped into the lake and swam to the other side to find its peace (and some froglet).
