Ideal tour in the snow. The ascent isn't difficult at all. Most hikers who go along the path behind Lužnica continue towards Vrh nad Peski and Batognica. We usually set off in the snow from Planina Kuhinja over Leskovec. When conditions don't allow going further, Maselnik is a good choice. That's how it was yesterday, 19.01.2026. It was trodden to the top. But strong wind was forecast. The weather forecasters didn't err. Already at the parking lot on Planina Kuhinja it was minus 7 degrees. The day was without clouds. There's quite some snow back there. Conditions further were good, but due to the strong wind we didn't decide to proceed. We stopped a few times and waited for the wind gust to pass. We were the only visitors. It looks like Krn also had no visitors yesterday.

15.11. 2024. This year November is gorgeous. We didn't even think we'd stand on both Babanski Skedenjs in a week's time. Around eight in the morning we set off from Žaga. Steeply uphill. Higher up we viewed the Boka waterfall. Continued to planina Baban. Then along the path through the forest. All the way to the junction for Veliki Babanski Skedenj. We chose the right approach to the summit. Descended the left side and reached the familiar little path lower down. Or rather, a mule track. Below the summit there's some scrambling among rocks. At the summit it's quite precipitous on both sides. Views really wonderful. When clarity persists. And it wasn't cold either. Just below the summit in the grass we stopped for a good hour. For descent we went past planina Ognjenik and then the steep path that the trail markers recently renewed the markings on, as it's a hiking path, arrived back at starting point in Žaga still in daylight. Didn't meet almost anyone. Less than 1700m ascent and 12-odd km walk. A tour that'll stay in our fond memory. Just like a few days ago when we were around here.

Thanks to Maja. I've walked there in the forest so many times that the path is well known to me. I think it's still better marked than before. I'm satisfied with the new path. In the Goličica wall it wasn't clear to me that there are only pitons. But that's how they decided. Your post helped me to go on this path.

Jalovec on Saturday 15. 08. 2026. Maja S you chose a beautiful path. Unknown to me until yesterday. I decided to go see what it looks like. Started walking at fifteen to seven. Leisurely, without any rushing. At the hunting lodge I turned into the steep slope. Don't know if there was already a sign for Mali Kot before? Anyway the path is marked. Nice to me, especially walking among boulders. I didn't know what awaits me further upon entering the wall. Quite an airy climbing route where pitons help. Just the right number of them. I put a helmet on my head in case something falls from above. The path over the scree is fine. Some foreign hikers were just descending there. For further on the path to the summit is well known to me. Nice weather attracted quite a few hikers. I was at the top at 12 o'clock and ten minutes. I had more than enough time. Descent via the path past the shelter under Špička into the valley. To the starting point which was full in the morning. Now half empty. Still a stop by the Soča on the way home when you swim in the cold water.

Just yesterday I drove from our area two and a half hours to the starting point for Jalovec and Bavški Grintavec, a little beyond the source of the Soča. At 6:30 the parking lot was full. Some left their vehicles somewhere near the road. It seems they don't charge there. But regarding the traffic, when these days they write so much that it's chaos, it didn't seem that bad to me. August bustle.

I didn't know. Just skip mine. Solve what was before. Better three than none.

We went in a circle. Up from Bavšica somewhere under Brežič saddle we turned across high grass under the walls of Loški vrhovi. Looking for passages. Watched for holes in the grass. One viper was in the grass and moved away. Quite a long way it was to the described saddle. Be careful at the summit. We left backpacks a bit below the summit and went up. At the summit in nice weather. Probably all three of us thought, this can't be true but it is. One marmot was sunbathing up there. Earlier along the path we saw another one that was almost too fat. Descent on the other side where we found a path that goes from Briceljko. But it disappears. My wish was fulfilled. The tour requires good fitness and knowledge of walking off-path. (10. 08. 2026)

He doesn't care about the fish. For him the water and rocks for jumps are important.

Today he wasn't bored. He had the company of a girl who jumped into the water with a mask. He also jumped after her and submerged. We laughed quite a bit.

They are educated and smart - nothing you can do. I won't forget the interview on Lj 1 when the journalist asked mayor Henrika Zupan if there would be any discount for PZS members. She said there will be no discount. The same payable for everyone. Sad where we've come to. Anyway for some time now we prefer to go across the border where there are quite a few starting points and nice tours.

We forgot about the time when we walked there yesterday. Like in some other world.

4.08. 2026. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will find it on these paths. Because the three of us did not meet anyone. At Lake Rabelj there is summer hustle and bustle. Up there, however, it is peaceful. We took time to view the remains from those unfortunate war times. There are some abysses along the path. The path to the summit is marked. There is also a cable somewhere in the gully where the passage would be more difficult. First we went to Bavhica. Through some kind of window. Where the wind was pleasantly cooling. I do not remember walking to any peaks on so many steps that the soldiers carved back then. The world here is karstified. You have to be quite careful somewhere, because there are abysses along the path. We visited the speleological bivouac, which is unlocked and nicely arranged. On the Škrbina saddle under the škraplja there are signs with walking times. We visited Veliki Snežni vrh, for which you do not find many descriptions. Mainly with the help of navigation we walked the planned route. Beautiful places and paths. We will definitely return. The water in Lake Rabelj at the end of the tour is just right for refreshment. And you might randomly get some parking along the road, so you do not have to walk much. We walked about 10 km. 1000 meters of elevation gain. Just right for a sunny August day.

From Maja from Bala it's much easier. Verified. And I think there's still a guy there where the path branches off further to Brežič saddle. Through Bukovska korita it's quite annoying to walk. It's better to return by the same path back.

It was 40 degrees outside. By the water it was okay. In Solkan under the bridge. Somewhere there.
