Starting point: first tunnel above Mangart pasture...couldn't go further by car due to snowdrifts. We start around 05:00

Just before Mangart saddle we already hit an icy traverse that won't let us pass without crampons. Further we try the narrow gully, but due to too little snow we turn around and continue on the Italian route. Conditions were more than excellent, no lack of sunshine and consequently the view was a bit kitschy. We still had the descent back and well-deserved beers!

Even that morning before departure the goal wasn't clearly set... Among options was also Mala Mojstrovka but in the end Škrbina prevailed. We started in Tolminske Ravne, where we roughly decided where to go up. At the car still hesitating whether to take 2 ice axes each or one is enough, but towards the summit it turns out extra doesn't hurt =)Since no other way, we had to continue the path under Škrbinska plošča, which is of course very nice, but in winter time not too smart to linger below, as projectiles fly from it that don't care about helmets... We stowed the poles replaced by ice axes and quickly climbed over the gullies above the slabs. From there another few 100 meters to the summit and we already spotted Bohinj Lake and the highest among beauties We descended past planina Razor, then on a steeper path back towards Tolminske Ravne. The only piece of gear missing from the backpack this time was sunscreen, which I think we won't forget again =)

Yesterday we were on Rodica. Path to Grantarski forest not cleared so we started the tour already in Rut. No one before us for days so we mostly broke trail in 30-60cm snow. We had crampons but they warmed nicely in the backpack.
At top we bathed in sun with views of sea of clouds. Definitely worth the effort!
