On Sunday afternoon on Osojnica in nice afternoon weather after morning snowfall and clouds. Almost no snow in the valley, higher up just a little accumulated. The hill is above Pivka basin. Previously the summit was forested, now it offers quite some views after last year's ice storm. Nanos and Sveta Trojica nicely visible.

I started with my dad. And I don't even remember much how it started. I think it was at about 4 or 5 Nanos via steep from Razdrto. And at 7 Mangart from Mangart saddle via Italian route. If it had been like @Ben rescuers would probably have dragged me off the path because I'd probably have stopped there since I'm more "allergic" to ropes. A person sometimes thinks too much. As a kid you climb where it's possible as long as there is energy. Definitely better if someone else is with you, especially for beginners. Many of them go alone too, but most of those know themselves, their abilities and the mountains.

Some attendance at mountaineering society courses will surely be useful. Start with lower ones and go to higher ones, or the path difficulty and height difference is more important. There are also lower peaks with higher difficulty. Best to start in home areas if there are suitable hills for the beginning. Many hills in Notranjska and Primorska are suitable for the start, relatively low, non-precipitous, paths wide etc. E.g. Slivnica, Slavnik, Vremščica etc. Also in Dolenjska and Pohorje something can be found. In Zasavje the hills are quite steep, sometimes precipitous, but still accessible. Even in the Alps there are very easy peaks (e.g. Kranjska reber). It depends from hill to hill. Also in Škofljeloško-Cerkljansko there is variety. Also in Polhograjci, which despite their height are quite steep and some give the feeling of "mountain ascent" (Grmada, Tošč). Depends from hill to hill. Here above are descriptions and pics. Look and decide. Say, start with one-hour hikes to suitable hills. You can also go with a mountaineering society in the end when they have a suitable hike for you.

I think it's a truffle. not entirely sure though, cuz I barely recognize them. Especially since it was dug from the ground.

@piotr

Yes it's Dead Mountain.

@B2

No it's not Veliki Modrasovec. It's in Javorniki.

I'm not causing panic. Just, if you bump into a sow with cub she won't retreat. Just warning you might encounter bear, but not necessarily.

But that's like RTV Nostradamus, where as I've heard they don't count points even if you guess right. So Wales:Belgium?jezik Or this. On which peak is the dilapidated military object in the picture?
Am Shagar1. 07. 2016 10:27:41
Not surprising at all. Nearby Krim and all around is just one of the bear centers. Like Javorniki with surrounding valleys. Especially Loška dolina. If no urgent errands, better not hang around Krim and nearby areas unless in a group.

Best if some human shits up there too. Then the sheep will know who's the boss up therejezik Obviously they like the peak a lot, since they have access to many others that aren't so shitty.

What kind of party is it that Zoki came to Šamrno? Then also barby girl. Poor Šmarna. Already yesterday there was mass greeting of sun rays, as far as I followed lv media.
Am Shagar15. 06. 2016 08:57:15
I'd like that too, but so far I haven't succeeded yet. I hope it works for me already this year. Excellent pictures without beautifying.

@remolog

You can get them also in Srna store on Bloška polica. Even with defect, if I'm not mistaken. I don't know what the prices are or which models are available, since I haven't been there for a long time. No experiences except with some low leather ones.
Am Shagar15. 06. 2016 08:40:13
Yeah, as far as I've heard, they're not what they used to be. For an average hiker, they're still fine.

@keti1

Last Sunday they still smelled quite nicely. The best from Križevec along the road to the Suha saddle, then nicely along the ridge over Mala Golica and Krvavko to Golica. Down to the hut and then from the hut back to Križevec. At least that's best for me. The path from the hut is already quite worn out and destroyed. Most narcissuses as always on Mala Golica and under Krvavko.

Every few months there's stumbling over the stumbling stone called Smarna Gora. Now some Himalayan would probably say Triglav has little to do with real mountains and below 5000m doesn't count at all. Everyone has their own. For some it's important to prove themselves with height and all "via ferrata" paths and then say they "climb". For others it's to go somewhere new without facebook achievements etc. Third only walk flat, fourth duathlon couch fridge. To each his own. Smarna Gora lacks nothing, even if not "real" mountain. For Ljubljaners excellent rec spot. For others occasional visit, good viewpoint, and elevation gain plenty. Though I don't like various trimčaks they are part of it. You meet them on "real" mountains with half liter water and spare shirt (not mountain runners). If Vinko wants to post about Smarna Gora let him. Noone forces you to read. Otherwise similar debate as mountain hut offers. Some for existing, go to mountains to exercise not hotel dining. Others want hotel up there. And probably no issue if tavern on Jalovec like on Smarna. Then trimčaks in sneakers up. Would Jalovec be "real" mountain for "real" mountaineers then?
