Today afternoon, started the trail at Vršič, arrived at Slemenova špica exactly at 17:00. Most of the way up quite windy, at the top even morenasmeh descended via trail to Tamar and further to Rateče. Trails are fine, except that short section through the gully a bit before Tamar. Regards

Slemeno Peak in real winter conditions. Track is made, 30 cm snow, had gaiters and a bit tracked on my own.

On Tuesday (17.12.) to Slemenova Špica from Vršič. Path to Vratc partly icy, partly snowy and partly bare, further from the pass snowy but well trodden. Crampons (chains) needed.

Today's hike.. from Vršič to Slemenova Špica, via path under Mala Mojstrovka. Soon on this path some electronic wonder appears, visitor countervelik nasmeh a few minutes further on the path there's still a snow patch, I'd say there where you go to the secured path to Mala Mojstrovka, because no more markers ahead. At Slemenova Špica newly arranged path to the top, shortcuts closed. Descended to Tamar via path through Grlo, nice, but overgrown to the gully.. wildernessnasmeh part through the gully.. well screevelik nasmeh from Tamar further past Planica towards Rateče, at Ledine I decide to extend the walk to Kranjska Gora. Home with the last bus today at 21:00nasmeh regards

I'm interested how it is with parking at Vršič on Saturdays, because info is different. TD KG claims parking not possible due to renovation of parking lots, at the hut they say it's possible and no big crowd. Since I'd come on Saturday within 2-3 weeks for larches from Maribor please for current info if anyone has experiences from last days or weeks. Thanks Ales

The claim that parking is not possible is not exactly true, but there are much fewer parking spots than before. Some are intentionally permanently blocked (see picture), on others works are ongoing. When I was there last Saturday, around 9:00 as well as around 16:00 all legal parking spots at the pass were taken, quite a few cars wrongly parked, so partially blocking the road and big chaos. At 9:00 the paid parking at Erjavčeva hut was almost full and I got the second last free spot. If at some hut near the pass they say no problems with parking on weekends in good weather, they are lying a bit. But around 9:00 there were some empty parking spots lower along the road, maybe 200m below the pass.

Today a nice walk to Slemenova Špica. The path is currently well trodden, there is quite some snow. Today the path to Vratca pass was very icy. The path offers wonderful views, the best towards Jalovec.
