Descent on the same path (with some additions). On 620 from the junction I checked only up to the first fixed rope, nothing special up to there, but problems start only at places where it burned in 2013. This time there was no time for a loop to Patoka, I'm also interested in the current condition.

619 is in excellent condition, was there 2.5., only ticks are already very activenasmeh

Yesterday descending from Rogatec towards Zg.Špeh. Crampons despite summer temps very useful first 15 min descent. Otherwise circular from Rogelj mill over meadow to Lepenatko, Kal, Rogatec, Lemojca, Rogelj no issues. Nice.

My contribution to this topic: that last part, whether along the NE ridge or steep grass, with frozen ground can quickly show its teeth. Tested years ago on descent velik nasmeh

Otherwise, we two circled the whole loop above Čemšnik a day before the last snowfall. Highly recommend to lovers of solitude, hunters' paths and easy off-trail. But rambling here is best early spring or late autumn.

This time I imagined a trip from Kokra along the path past Nabernik, then from Krems / Zajec directly up the S ridge to Škrbina (my motto: why drag along clearings around if the ridge lacks nothingmežikanje), traverse Slaparjeva gora via SE to the saddle between Cjanovca and SE, back along the ridge to the branch for Babe, then down their ridge into Čemšeniški graben. About 11.5km and some elevation.

Interesting that maps have quite some confusion about naming individual peaks in the ridge. On PZS map e.g. Hude stene is only the NW slope of Škrbina, on OpenTopo it's one of the peaks in the ridge. Location of Slaparjeva gora summit unclear too, on PZS map it's 1208m (far from highest in ridge), on SloTopo Hude stene at same spot, Slaparjeva gora at 1237m? Then further unnamed 1271m as highest part before ascent to Javorjev vrh. Would be interesting to ask Slaparjevs what they think ;-)

Anyway, nice trip with nice views. Next time Akle, Starec and company to fill some gaps in knowing nature and society above Kokra...

A couple more tips:

- to Mali vrh the by far best approach for my taste is right along / by V ridge, you start literally from the castle courtyard, up the stairs and past the tower entrance on the right sneak onto the path (Lambergova?), which goes behind the tower (you can come from behind too, but this way is more romantic velik nasmeh ... just cross the path and dash into the slope, as soon as possible cross left to the edge (careful!!!) and climb up along it to the top, upper part is nice scrambling ...

- from Maksov brlog to Jamarski vrh you can climb / descend a few meters along hunting paths to the right to some splendid gullies / viewpoints

- Tolsti vrh I rather skip, because it's viewless knee-gnasher, and descent to Ovčenike can be uncomfortable - though nice (steep, slippery grass) If you want to go there, much nicer from Poljska pl.

- somewhere at the saddle between Jamarski vrh and TV, a path branches right to Ovčeniki, but hard to find at start or wrongly drawn on PZS map ... I built some kind of cairn where I descend a bit towards Draga, there you find a picturesque path leading down along the stream to Dom v Dragi

- at the start of this path also clearly visible hunting traverse, over bridge and past hunting stand to Ovčeniki (watch: very slippery steep grass!)

- from the top I prefer to return by the same traverse, over the bridge and then left on path straight to Draga, all other descents from Ovčeniki are much more delicate, really an ice axe would come in handy ... except if descend north side (from saddle on ridge branches north a well visible, partly slightly exposed path that leads below to path from Planince (and later road) - path ok, but in winter shady and almost certainly icy long after south side is blooming)

- recommended in non-tick times mežikanje

The described path is nicely rounded off by the extension to Ovčenike mežikanje

A somewhat zoomed photo of PZ (Konj, yesterday), today maybe already in the valley.

VanSims, you're right. Šinavc or Šinovec from Lužnica.
Stef_Smi6. 09. 2019 10:26:00
No, but from this summit Grauzaria and Zuc can be seen ;-)
Stef_Smi6. 09. 2019 10:16:28
Not Čuk, but in the Karnic Alps ;-)
Stef_Smi5. 09. 2019 23:22:26
Which summit does this path lead to?
Stef_Smi5. 09. 2019 11:23:28
It exists, checked this year
Stef_Smi5. 09. 2019 11:03:29
Maybe SW ridge of Kočna?

I think we met at the top today. The via ferrata is interestingly routed, nicely secured, the lower part which can be avoided if you continue traversing from Furlan's, is much more demanding than the continuation, maybe smart to add a difficulty sign for that part.

But I had quite a mishap, in the upper part of the via ferrata the pouch with my Canon S7X mII camera unclipped from the backpack strap and fell into the depths jezen
On descent I searched the area for quite some time where I last saw the camera, unfortunately without success. Maybe it flew all the way to the scree below. If by chance any visitor to Gradiška Tura finds the camera or what's left of it, I'd be very grateful if you let me know (stef.smi@gmail.com). In the picture I marked the fall spot with an arrow, the circle is where I last saw the camera.

When I now look out the window, I'm especially glad we managed to bag Mladinska and Prontarska the previous days nasmeh A few more pics from Tuesday's Mladinska route in Storžič:
