And that roe deer you saw like that..hmmm... I only saw remains on the path, thought it was from a wild boar judging by the fur. The winter room got snowed over again, because up there it blows so much that it covered even my own ascent footprints when I was descending.

Today I climbed to Kamnik Saddle. You can cross that avalanche below with the help of poles quite safely. Snow quite compact. To Pastircev there's a nice beaten path and it can be crossed without major problems even without crampons. Quite southern snow. Above Pastircev today three mountaineers walked and yesterday someone with snowshoes. Lots of snow, it sinks to the knees and more. So without full winter gear I advise against continuing. But on the summit part it was quite unpleasantly windy and fog completely disabled orientation. Recommend only to very experienced and well physically prepared mountaineers.

How could one miss such a day for ascent on Snežnik. Beautiful weather, quite some snow, below summit without icy snow. Today Snežnik showed really in one of its friendlier faces. Winter idyll...

This weekend beautiful winter scene at summit with ice candles. Without crampons below summit would be interesting.

The arrogance of some on this forum annoyed me a bit. A person in good faith passes on path info as soon as possible the same day to others who might really care about path conditions. And gets in thanks a bunch of superfluous opinions on unimportant namings of very demanding mountain paths or secured climbing paths or ferratas. The Alpine Association of Slovenia defined and described the terminology according to various authors (Mašer, Hüsler, Fleischmann) long before this beloved portal hribi.net existed, namely before 2006. For all eager readers I recommend taking the book: Safer on ferratas and guide to Dolomite ferratas (PZS) from 2002. Another interesting read I recommend is Guide to Carnic ferratas (PZS) from 2011. By the way in Italian ferrata is written as ferrata...

Today I tried to climb from Kotovo sedlo to Jalovec. From Tamar the path is clear, somewhere a snow patch. The upper part of the path still has quite some snow. A strong icy wind was blowing at the saddle, so I turned back.
