Mountaineering club "Obruč"

Dear members, sympathizers and friends of the Mountaineering club Obruč, we hereby inform you that on 3 February 2014 the Municipality of Jelenje headed by mayor mr.sc. Ervin Radetić unilaterally terminated the Contract for use of the mountaineering hut Hahlić. At the end of the one-month deadline we got for eviction, the hut will be closed for the first time after 34 years of continuous operation.
We also invite you to respond and participate in the meeting with Novi list journalists which will take place on 10. 2. 2014. at 16:30 in the PD Obruč premises in Podkilavac. Respond and express your opinion.

Keepers of the Hahlić hut are the best in 2012.

The Croatian Mountaineering Federation traditionally awards the most successful associations, individuals and collaborators at the end of the year who distinguished themselves with successful work and results. The annual HPS awards were given at the solemn New Year's session held on December 17, 2012 in the Home of the Croatian Mountaineering Federation in Zagreb.
In the category of best hut keeper, the recognition went to the duty mountaineers of the Hahlić hut, members of PD Obruč. Radojka and Zvonko, Marica, Mile and Anita, Romina and Braco are the names behind the title „duty mountaineers of the Hahlić hut“. They earned the title of best hut keeper in truly great competition, when you know how many good mountaineering huts and keepers there are in Croatia. After 10 years the recognition comes again into the hands of the Hahlić hut keepers; as a reminder, in 2002 the recognition for best hut keeper was received by the legendary hut keeper of the Hahlić hut Davor Šupak, whom everyone affectionately calls Davorić.
With the refurbishment of the Hahlić hut high standards were achieved, but the question is how much they would be worth if all visitors weren't always completely sure that the hut will be open over the weekend, in any season and any weather, for which the great will and dedication of the duty mountaineers is responsible.

Behind us is a press conference where we informed the public about the problems happening around the mountaineering hut on Hahlić. Although invited, the mayor of Jelenje Municipality did not appear and excused his absence with unavoidable obligations (according to the sports committee president Mr. Toni Buterin) who read the mayor's statement at that time. Since many things related to the future of the Hahlić hut are still unclear from that statement, and Mr. Buterin was unable to answer the questions asked, PD Obruč will use the "Coffee with the mayor" institution, and thus try to get information.
On this occasion, we thank you for the shown support and invite you once again to come on Thursday, 13. 2. 2014. at 16:30 to the Jelenje Municipality council hall for "coffee with the mayor".
