Excellent trip for the whole family, full of historical impressions, natural beauties and freshness of Posočje air. I found the full path description Kobarid - history, tourism, sports, nature on this page and it seems worth sharing.

I know, summer is already over and our mountain will be "in the spotlight" again when high mountains are locked for us ordinary hillwalkers.

Since it's still warm, we might run into various reptiles on the way. I know we're all avid conservationists, but I think reading this excellent article by excellent Sabotin expert Borut Kumar will spare us many lumps in the throat: Reptiles of Sabotin.

Another geological curiosity of our mountain - undercuts on Sabotin. Has anyone discovered them yet?

Again mixing WWI with interwar period::
- at the Vratce there are no ruins of military buildings from WWI, but Italian border objects from Rapallo border time
- spikes, nets and bunkers also not from WWI, but Italian fortifications to protect Vratce.
- the huge barracks doesn't defy time almost 100 years, but only about 70.

Probably the result of some Tricholoma.
