On Saturday I climbed Ivančica again, (H. Zagorje). Usually I go up via Konj, down via Zgano vino-Mrzljak. I heard there is another path supposed to be easier, called pionirska pot. In the hut I got info that the path isn't suitable for descent, but still I descended via this path.
I found out this path isn't easier but probably the hardest approach to Ivančica summit. Three quarters of the path on ascent is very steep and exposed in many places, very slippery when wet, almost no markings, here and there some 30-40 year old mark, but path is well traceable.
Don't know who maintains paths on Ivančica, guess PD Ivanec or planinarski klub Ivanec. Hope someone from those societies reads this and gives detailed info on this path.
Maybe this path is abandoned?
My advice: Don't go in winter time or if it's rainy and slippery; I don't recommend descent on this path.

At Kamniško sedlo camera not working for 10 days already. Who services or monitors cameras in mountains? Now hut open, but no possibility caretaker activates camera again. Some time ago camera at Kokrško sedlo deactivated whole 2 monthsjezen

How is the hut already closed? The huts at Kamnik and Kokra Saddles were always open until mid-October, so it should be open for at least one more week, and nice weather is forecast. Is someone in a hurry to the valley?

Zjezenjezenjezenwhy don't some cameras work, like at Kamniško and Kokrško sedlo, sometimes for 14 days. If someone needs current info - for snow conditions or weather, they can't get it easily. Are the cameras set to stop or do they keep breaking. Can someone explain this in more detail.

Can someone explain to me what's happening with the camera at Kamniško sedlo?
Every few days it stops and "hangs" and shows pictures a few days old or more. eek

What's happening with our mountain huts?
Hard to believe it's coincidence. Every year one or even more huts or lodges burn down. Do we really have some psychopath or moron who gets his kicks this wayjezenjezen

When the hut on Zelenica burned down, it took 7 years to get it sorted.
After the war, almost all mountain huts and homes were burned or demolished. By 1950 almost all mountain facilities were renovated, some huts newly built.
Back then in those "leaden times" there was no need to beg or collect; companies had to by "decree" allocate money from profits and give to ridiculous mountaineering associations.
But something was there - lots of shock work and voluntary labor that individual hikers contributed in their free time and Sundays. Today in our neoliberal capitalist state neighbor can't help neighbor mow the lawn for free.
Just for thought

For this vertical via ferrata the girl has a completely inappropriate harness set. From the pictures it's clear that the attachment carabiner is somewhere between her legs. If there was a slip-fall in the vertical it would surely flip the girl around and she would hit the rocks with her head.
In verticals a harness set is mandatory, which consists of upper and lower belt parts and attachment point in the upper part of the chest piece.
Such sets are more expensive but much safer if a fall happens. This applies only to via ferratas which have a lot of vertical or even overhanging sections. I have already explained this once on this portal.

It's particularly evident in picture 7. and it looks like the harness belt is attached to the littleembarrassed

Those two posters with opening and operating times remind me of an ordinary tavern, not a mountain hut.
How is it with overnight stays in Pasaričev dom?
Is it possible to overnight at all? Here I mean weekends when the hut is open and operates. It is good to know for the future to avoid unpleasant surprises.

On Sunday New Year's Eve we wanted to spend and welcome new year on top of Ivanščica. We were very disappointed, Pasarić hut was closed. Late evening more and more hikers coming, expected someone of keepers would come and open hut. Waited in vain. Gathered ca. 100 hikers, very strong wind, atmosphere fitting. For New Year's Eve huts usually open, keeper expects good profit if properly organizes and prepares food and drink. Why Pasarić hut closed, can someone explain?
Some hikers grumbled mentioning hut has new keeper!? Doesn't he go for profit?jezenjezen

They destroyed a piece of pristine nature, just so someone can get an adrenaline rush, and the municipality attracts as many tourists as possible to maximize profit

Bravo and congratulations, but something in your climbing doesn't appeal to me. For such vertical via ferratas you have completely unsuitable harnesses. For vertical and overhanging via ferratas, harness sets are used that also have an upper chest part. These are so-called closed safety harnesses that also have an attachment point on the upper part of the chest piece with additional straps. Namely, if there is a fall in a vertical wall and the person is attached with a harness like yours
the jerk that occurs when the carabiner hits the brake point, (fixed piton for the rope) the twisting force turns the climber around so that he flies down headfirst and suffers head injury or even spine. This was tested by the German Alpenverein in experiments and always warns about this mistake when hikers buy these safety sets.

I see your children also climb. At least get them closed harnesses so they are safe.
This is no criticism just a well-intentioned warning
sincerely

Hello

Here you list mountaineering literature, especially older editions. But can someone tell me where one could buy these books, at least by domestic authors?
I buy literature from the Slovenian mountaineering publisher, but they have a very modest selection. I don't know why they don't reprint at least our classics like Kmecejezenlj, Avcin and similar.jezen

What Lijaneja wrote above holds true and is the only correct thing. Bivouacs are objects meant as shelters in case of need. At least before 70-60 years they were built for that. Unfortunately we live in a time when some idiots come up with some "union tourism" and organize various parties and other things in bivouacs. For the one who wants to overnight in a bivouac before a hard tour, no problem to get the key if the bivouac is locked.
What can that mountaineer do if a storm catches him or something worse, and hejezen stands in front of a locked bivouac?

Please for an explanation if anyone knows what's happening at the alpine association and alpine publishing house. I often order books from the Alpine Association of Slovenia and always have problems getting the ordered and paid books on time.

Usually I pay for all ordered books in advance, (proforma). When the books are paid for I simply have to call after about 10-12 days or send emails so that they send me the ordered ones. Usually then I get a message that they overlooked the payment or forgot to send them. Does the alpine association have any accounting that tracks sales? Why these problems, and this for a couple of years already. They also have an interest in selling something and gaining customers and not turning them away. Is the organization so bad or do they not have the right interest?!
