Last year my friend and I tried to reach Grintovec via Dolge Stene, but fog prevented us. This year it worked, even though above Mali Vratci it looked similar to last year. Definitely a path I can recommend to anyone used to moving in such terrain, compared to the path via Streho this one is much more dynamic and psychologically less tiring.

Anyone been up recently and can say about conditions, esp snow? Thanks in advance.

I know about that track to Begunjščica, also the mine along the path over Roža, and also the famous mines above Jesenice. But for the area around Trupejevo poldne I never heard there was any mine there. (Which of course doesn't mean there never was one.)

Nice. Just a few days ago it was purely autumnal. By the way: Does anyone know why Železnica is called that? Probably never a railway track there. Or? :-)

Hello!

Maybe someone knows the path that branches off left a bit below the hunter's hut below Kamniški Dedec. Looks quite trodden, probably leads somewhere to Repov kot. Am I right? What's the difficulty like?

Yes, since I have read many places on the internet that there is trouble with motorbikes and quads, I prepared myself mentally for it. But as said, there were none on the section.
As for the trail, it is quite damaged in some places by foresters too, but no complaining here; they have their work.
In any case, I hope that future generations will also find genuine contact with nature on Pohorje.

My wife and I went for the weekend, hiked from Friday to Sunday and had a good time.

I did a similar tour last week myself but in reverse direction: Mače - Kališče - Bašeljski vrh - Mali Grintovec - Srednji vrh - Cjanovca - Javorov vrh - St. Jakob - Preddvor. Really nice and solitary tour, no snow anymore, just windy along the whole ridge quite strongly. Hope for many more like this!
