How beautiful the day will be, it was already showing yesterday in the early morning hours during the drive. The views from the road were tempted by the first sun rays coloring the tips of the Julian peaks. Dressed in white, they have a special charm, and on such a beautiful morning you can only murmur every now and then "what a crazy beautiful day it'll be". The confirmation of the correctness of the thought showed on every meter to Zajzera, more and more snow, all around a real winter idyll.

The original plan was snowshoeing across the vast Zajzera expanses, but it was quickly replaced by the desire for views from the heights, and since the Grego hut is in such a location that from the valley you can already see yourself sitting in the sun admiring the walls of Montaža, Viša, Nabojsa… there was no need to think long. The path was additionally compacted by soldiers who were training there yesterday in ski touring and snowshoeing, and probably more. So it was possible to walk without snowshoes, but still sank here and there up to the knees and beyond. But that just spices up the happenings on the path. The hut was still deep in snow, probably that's why it's closed. Somewhere down there are benches too, so for enjoying an aperitif in the sun some improvisation was needed first, then pure pleasure followed…

Before I get tangled in a detailed description of these pleasures, it's better to write a word about conditions, though the "winter" label would probably suffice. It was trampled; due to the warm day it was just right crusty for pleasant walking without aids, snow reaches the markers (on trees)… due to the clear night surely some froze, if precipitations come, it'll all change in a few days.

In short, Zajzera is always beautiful and it's always hard to leave it too soon, so on the return we still had to indulge in some snowshoeing, snow angels and the like…. powder fun didn't work.

This trip stayed with me from the winter days, but it didn't work out for me then, though it was nice to go get some fresh air on an easier path back then. Since today's holiday reveille didn't help me get up earlier either, the winter idea came in handy. Co-hikers craving shorter trips gladly joined, and in the end it was a really nice hiking day. Of course, without the "obligatory washing" in between it couldn't be avoided, but that's the "reward" for those who don't stick to the saying about the early hour... However, the advantage of spring showers is that even usually mass-visited spots are more or less deserted. The second advantage is that the clouds quickly move away, so we could enjoy the views and sun rays.

Conditions though: the path is easy, well marked, no more traces of snow, the hut was closed, plenty of spring flowers, about the weather it's hard to write, as it's different every half hour.

Today's day spoiled us with everything: sun and views, also the drive on the road from the village Pietratagliata to the starting point at Planina Poccet passed without any "adrenaline" encounters. From there on, taking steps to the Lipnik summit was pure enjoyment, because the path is really nicely laid out and also well marked. Not much new or different from previous posts to write. This summit really enchants with views.

On the edge it is, but not quite on the edge, but in the shade, a new bench. As far as I know, it's been there a while and very comfortable. I can only praise it! I must, because I'm one of those who happily "adopt" some bench for an hour or two during wanderings and those who strive so that I can enjoy, must be praised too.

About conditions after all the showers and rain there's nothing special to write, the mud will dry these days anyway. But ticks are also tired of water and gladly "bite" into something juicier. If you don't intend to feed them, take protection.

Given that there is already a map of habitats of the lady's slipper in the Zelenice area on the net, velkavrh didn't reveal anything new.

In addition, we read here about other lady's slipper habitats and there was never any fuss. I can also admit that after the posts here I myself visited one of these sites and happily walked among the "tufts", one more beautiful than the other.

A few years ago the Institute for Nature Conservation also collected information on habitats, and at the same time issued an educational leaflet, and if we share it further, there will be more and more people admiring flowers in their natural environment. Link to the leaflet

I agree that Zlatica posted a real "pasture for the eyes". Cat's ears are something really special. It was a real pleasure to look at, but I can only add golden biscuits from Bavšica. It's slowly waking up around there too...

Not mushroom season yet, but here and there one turns up. Interesting colors and shapes, names unfortunately don't know - maybe someone does?

You know what? We all could learn something from what's written, find out something new... everything is welcome, because if we ask a local for the path he will know it by one (or more) name, if we enter it into Garmin (and similar devices) it will probably know the other version... in short, if we know more, it's only good.

Anyway, the path up there is pleasant, the views are wonderful... and if you go to those parts, I wish you such a nice day as I enjoyed.

Zlatica, you know how that Lainščkova goes: »…take me to the mountain where dwarves live. …Invite me sometimes to unknown places,…« and sometimes in some unknown places you can really just sing. I'm glad you liked the snapshots.

Ločanka, I added descriptions under the pictures. Of course with a little help, because even if they tell me what all I see, I never remember everything.

Really nice view on the Bovec basin, and also on the surrounding mountains. Especially if the weather is like it was on Saturday.
Conditions on the path have probably changed in these two days due to rain and maybe more snow for another snowman or you get to the valley with slightly dirtier boots. But you shouldn't look at that, it's more pleasant among the multitude of spring flowers which is a real feast for the eyes…

This year we have a real January sale of spring weather and such sales shouldn't be missed. Friday was one of those days and on the top of Amariana the views could be paid full price.

Conditions were pleasant, the cables in the rocky gully weren't frozen. The gully is steep, some frozen snow only in the last part (summit ridge).

Definitely worth a visit, and if you think there's more driving there than walking afterwards, you can stop in Pontebba at the ice rink on the way back and enjoy other winter pleasures.
