Sincere congratulations to the kids. They are really great! The tour is above all very long, from the photos you can see it was overcome without problems. Beautiful weather.

Last Tuesday my husband and I were at Kriški podi, where we also slept. Hut was full, but at nine in the evening complete silence. That was a really pleasant surprise for us, as we've experienced all sorts in huts. The young girls working in the hut are fantastic. Friendly and obliging. They also cook well. In the evening they gladly made my husband very good pancakes. They are also very energetic and I think they wouldn't allow rowdiness. I think PD should have younger staff in huts, they are less tired, flexible and also nice to look at. Otherwise, as VanSims said, abroad (Austria, Italy). There is real order, food excellent. Overnight as PD members we paid 20 € for both. But we always bring our own bedding. The one in huts repels me. Good luck!

Great, how all possible misunderstandings get resolved. This list is great,
and not just for those with dogs, also for everyone else for whom more demanding hikes don't suit. Many more nice hours in the hills.

When you read Majin's post, navduštitis grabs you right away to grab your backpack and rush off to where it invites us. Really good descriptions. The dogs are of course already almost licensed guides. Looking forward to new path descriptions.

Bravo, dragica.gnezda. I completely agree with you. Maja, don't let various weird "lovers" get to you and for us who admire your writing keep writing!! The lover will keep yapping like a hobbyist... Whatever! What's it called? Oh. Let's leave them their joy, they don't know what they want! And best mountaineering regards! To the lover too.

This is already hopeless. Dogs are, go and will go to the mountains, like it or not. Often in the mountains people bother me who don't belong there. And what do I do? I quicken my pace and leave them behind. In front I admire nature, peaks, flowers and chat with friendly hikers, with or without dogs. The essence of life is coexistence of people with nature and animals. Some still need to learn that, unfortunately some never will. Happy holidays to all and many beautiful hours spent in nature.Have a good one, love each other.

Maja, once again you proved you are a master of photography. Beautiful nature and so many different birds, and frozen sea, and....... Oh and Ah! Hope to see something new soon.

Thanks guys. You mountaineers are tender souls too. Today I picked primroses on the nearby hill and gave them to myself. Spring is awakening and eyes longingly gaze up there. Once again congratulations for today, which unjustly somehow fades into oblivion. Remember all the female mountaineers and female alpinists who even in "kiklah" conquered peaks and didn't lag behind their comrades at all. And that's the essence of today's holiday. In equality. Have a nice day further!

pohodnik11, I wish you a less stressful year 2012 and have fun in the mountains, with pups or without.

Today my husband and I were on Ratitovec. Wonderful, sunny day. On the way up, down and also on the top I saw so many dogs as I haven't for a long time. Not one did I hear bark. They were all breeds, big and small. They were mostly all on leashes, you could see they were well brought up. Owners were mostly young people and it was really nice to watch how the doggies obey them. It looks like Ratitovec is quite a suitable tour for dogs. Have fun in these wonderfully sunny days.

I know Majo O. and her puppy well. They are exceptionally well-trained dogs; it's a real pleasure to watch their skills. Maja is a very responsible owner and also a very good trainer. Her advice is certainly very professional. I've seen many dogs in the mountains so far and have good experiences. I've seen a poodle that, although quite small, climbed Dolgi hrbet with its owner. Around the Czech hut it was completely at home. I think mainly responsible owners go hiking with dogs, of course there are exceptions, but since the topic is "where to the mountains with a dog" I suggest Koča Grega in the western Julian Alps from Zajzerska planina and then perhaps to bivouac Stuparich, or just strolling around there with wonderful views of Montaž and Viš. Have a nice time, with puppies or without.

I have the exact same memory of the mountain too. It was divinely beautiful and no crowds anywhere. Gotta repeat. Happy hiking.

While reading this, goosebumps run down my back. Do you ladies realize that you could have ended up in the black chronicle?! The guys did really heartfelt work getting you down to the valley. I love the hills myself, but I'm over 60 and in winter I prefer to observe the high mountains from the valley, happily walking where it's safe. I think the ladies deserve a sermon, without taking offense. You know the saying: the mountain isn't crazy, the crazy one is... Guys, all congratulations for your heartiness; to the ladies: you have to admit that the years of youth have passed. I admitted it to myself, and it's still nice for me. Guys, I wish you many nice climbing hours.

Tadeya, I completely agree with you. All who are so impatient on forums have personal problems that you throw out of yourselves in such a stupid way. Leave marked paths for us šodrovci and use pathless terrain or become alpinists. Do you have the courage for that!?
No hard feelings.
