Jamnik is a really nice hill, just right for today. I start at Češnjica and head through steep forest to the hut at Petelinovec. Years ago it was a hunting hut where you could get tea or something to drink. Then it was sold, and now someone uses it for weekends. Shame. Above the hut I step on the road from Kropa to Jamnik. A couple of minutes on the road, then I turn to
the path that goes past the Kolombart farm across the plain all the way to the church at Jamnik. On the ridge before the church there were snowdrifts and it was still blowing quite hard.
From Jamnik I decide for a quick descent, straight below the church and further through steep forest towards Češnjica. Gliding in such fluffy snow is really a pleasure jezik One two three I was down in the gully. There I step on the forest road and along it another 10 minutes to Češnjica. On the way a roe deer startles me, hiding among snow-covered branches mežikanje
Really cool this Jamnik, go up sometime you'll like it nasmeh

Škednjovec has been tempting and scaring me for a long timemežikanje I start in the dark at pl. Blato and go along the hunting trail to Krstenica. The day was nice, so I easily follow the little path that brings me under Škednjovec. To avoid walking over scree I take it my own way among the rocks and there I also stumble upon cairns. At the saddle between Vrh Hribaric and Škednjovec I take a short breather, then carefully towards the top of Škednjovec. Tine Mihelič wrote in his guidebook that romance ends at the saddle, and it's true. Since courage is not my virtue I was a bit scared during the ascent along the ridge. The effort was rewarded with magnificent views. When I was back down at the saddle it was a relief. I descend lower to the scree and scramble through them into the little valley and soon I'm back on soft grass. On the way I also went to Jezerski Stog and descended from it via a steep gully and through scree towards pl. Krstenica and through the forest back to pl. Blato. It was a nice daynasmeh

I go to the hills mainly because of the animals. Neither heights nor the hiking time that I spend on a certain trail interest me. But I rejoice at encounters with animals. Mostly they are nice pleasant encounters, but this time it ended unfortunately. Death is part of life both for people and animals. I posted on the mountain forum, where people should somehow show how these things go in nature.
It saddens me that someone even thinks I could "sickly" enjoy what I saw.
I posted the event mainly as food for thought for all of us who go to the mountain world often.
And greetings to all mežikanje

Even before, a picture of a dead animal has appeared on the forum, only we didn't know how it ended. And there was no outrage.
It's just that you have to always "tackle" someone, this time it's my turn. Just use this opportunity this is my last post on this forum.

Best regards, Ajda

Yes strelec1954 we also talked about that later up at the hut, that it could be some disease as the cause.
Now in December and January these animals also mate and chase each other. This one was alone, but you don't know what happened to it before. There can be a whole bunch of causes.

JusAvgustin, have you never watched any documentary about the animal world in the mountains. These animals are always walking a thin line between life and death. That's exactly why people admire them so much.
There's nothing wrong if it shakes a person, it shook me too. But you don't need to write that the post is sick. Even if I write something every day, I won't manage to write as many stupid things as you already have.

Yeah probably, on the way to Kredarica I was wondering if it was you or not. In the evening after your post I saw it was really you wink

No stones heard, penultimate pic looks like slipped to me. What do you know what happened, meteorologist said first time sees ibex go up here.

I was thinking whether to post my yesterday's experience in the mountains at all, but it's better to stay quiet. Still, I'll write what I experienced and upload pictures. The event shook me quite a bit. I know, many will say, look at that "softie". Right, softie, that's just who I am.
Mid-morning I huff up to Kredarica, a couple of people were just heading down to the valley. I stay alone in front of the hut, warming in the sun and enjoying the views. Later another hiker comes up, together with the meteorologists we were four. Just right for a chat. Even though the meteorologists had other duties, they kindly served us too. We were all in front of the hut when the hiker spots an ibex right at the entrance to Triglav.
He was beautiful, a young male, one could say at the peak of his strength. We watched his light step, how easily he advanced in that steepness. Occasionally he stepped to the very edge of the rocks, looking over his kingdom. No hurry in his walk. He seemed like a true mountain enjoyer. We enjoyed watching this beautiful animal too.
He was getting higher and higher, if you didn't follow with your eyes where he was going, it was hard to find him again. I take quite a few pictures. When shooting from afar like this, some pics turn out, others don't. I waited for him to come out of the shade to take a brighter picture. And he does step onto the sunlit edge. Great, I think.
I take a few pics, one more, where is he now? And I see him slowly sliding down the snowy slope. We all shouted in unison, he's fallen. For a moment it looked like he would stop, but the snow patch was too short. He falls over the first rock jump, onto the snowy slope below. Rolls over a few times with increasing speed and is carried far down into the abyss under Triglav.
We are completely speechless, just staring at each other. The male part was visibly shocked too, so no one thinks I'm just a poor thing. You simply can't believe your eyes.
All the way to the valley, the thought of the unfortunate ibex haunted me. What went wrong that the poor guy ended like this. Law of nature, perhaps.
Since the post has nothing to do with current conditions at Kredarica, I attached it wherever. If it's bothering someone, they can delete it without sin.
Best regards to all.

ajda8. 12. 2013 18:36:53
Correct answer, ben, continue nasmeh
ajda8. 12. 2013 18:32:05
Miri, you have eagle eyes nasmeh I was really wondering if anyone would notice it.
Lake Bled is mežikanje
ajda8. 12. 2013 17:52:27
Not that either. It's a known mountain, this approach route however is not so common. Most go up from the other side.

ajda8. 12. 2013 17:01:51
Great, let's continue. Which mountain am I going to?
