I've roamed a lot but some summiteers have also slept in huts, ok I understand everything, that there's no bathroom and shower, but if the keepers are super I forget all that and if you want also zeeeeeeeely good food with it at normal prices head to DOBRČO, keepers Jana and Milan with team didn't get awards for most friendly hut in Slovenia for nothing this year, sadly all that was written before is true .....

As I wrote, so yes, all possible repairs from zippers onwards ..............VRH didn't go bankrupt, they just went in another direction.

BRAVO VIHARNIK
that's what I wanted to finally hear/read here on this forum, exactly as you wrote, can't claim for other things, but definitely confirm for textiles, the basic materials are really a pale shadow of 10 years ago and sadly due to China's penetration and the death of Europe's veeeeeery quality textile market we'll have to accept that jackets won't last 10 years anymore, be it Mamut or Breghaus or Maya

Well, nice brother, criticisms about Chinese, but sadly too late. Do you know how many good seamstresses had to go bust because of that? You'll finally be able to buy our home-made products again. Where would I personally dare to sell such eggs that fall apart after first wash? I'd be right on the front page of slo.novice. Oh, and one more thing, I hike mountains a lot myself, but tell me gvava why the f... a jacket needs double membrane, waterproof seams, zippers and such fashion flies. I walk in rain, snow and frost and don't need that. My softshell has windblocker so no blowing through, rain doesn't soak because wind membrane holds it, inside warm, and waterproof zippers. Come on, I never had them and don't want, because classic is still best quality (even zippers big price range but true more expensive best). Well except for shower all you listed really needed. If modern nowhere says it's good too and waterproof zippers sure they are. I wear my windbreaker, no taped seams and fully fine. Yeah under shower it gets but constantly yeah................

Yeah yeah guys don't totally misunderstand me, somehow I agree with aljazek, you gotta know they have Mammut and Berghaus prices for one softshell grrrrrrr high, but for that price you really get it, at Maya I'd say like I always say "you get what you pay for", but on discount prices not regular ones, sure my best softshell is the one I made myself, it has lots of km behind it with handsewing and without and it's still pretty nice, and many roll their eyes when I tell them the price, though it's half cheaper than in Maya, sure today everything's made in China, even Mammut and Berghaus I don't believe are made at home, but obviously they put quality in and control it so products are much better and price-wise ....hmmmm, some take it easier and the result is Maya crap, today everything's such fluff that you just don't know good from bad anymore, I worked a lot with Schoeller materials, Swiss maker Eschler, even they are not what they used to be. Wore their pants 10 years, now their materials fuzz already (not all), velour is worse over years -sad, price still pretty high for our pockets.

I'll be direct again, because you've thrown me some bones to chew on again. Given that I deal with used clothes every day that I repair—even new ones—I tell you the state of your clothes depends entirely on you. Some don't care about maintenance at all, happily throw softshell in the washing machine and boil it, then come to me crying and sell me the fairy tale that they didn't boil it at all. I think, yeah, I'm not from yesterday. How then the jacket won't fall apart? Exactly such a case I had with one lady after one year (hellooooooo, after one year of wearing the jacket, to claim warranty—in my opinion they're a bit crazy in Maya Maya to even accept it). But pants then also after some half year, e.g., they give for warranty because the elastic stretched. Aja, yeah sure, and my car is also a good year old—what if I take it back to the salon? A bunch of km and scratches, yeah, and tires already worn, yeah I want a new one. That's how some customers behave when their warranty is rejected. Yeah, so when I told her she boiled it and even dried it in the dryer, she started whining, but in the end she figured her husband probably accidentally boiled and dried it in the machine. These sports clothes ARE WASHED AT MAX TO 40 DEGREES AND NEVER EVER DRIED IN DRYERS. And many folks don't stick to that, then we're where we are. I had a case where I repaired three same jackets, all the same age, bought in the span of a few months. Pity I didn't photo them so you'd see the oldest like new, the youngest like pulled out of a cow's ass—sorry. Some really know how to care, some even pull the zipper so forcibly, good that it doesn't rip out on the way. Oh, because you made me curious, I bought in Maya Maya t-shirts, jacket, and full tracksuit. I said to see if it's really such crap as you write here. Prices are, well, some in the normal range, some quite expensive, without discount absolutely overpriced. Oh, gaiters I looked at—17€. Never in life do I come across such a price if I go sew them, so I send customers there, because I don't like someone throwing under my nose saying at you they're 25€. T-shirts really pilled on me, but I go every weekend to the mountains. Pilled from rucksack, from sweat. Jacket after two washes still very nice purple. Tracksuit quite ok. I'd shorten it, but last time I bought three bottoms in different stores—catastrophe, indeed they were 10€ cheaper than Maya Maya, but horror how pilled (Maya's too, but nothing compared to these). Yeah, what if I take them back? Seriously thinking, or go to ZPS.............

Some weep over old times,
lament misfortune and wait for help,
seek culprits and rage,
turn to the sky and hope for miracles,
fall into despair and prepare suitcases for departure.

Others COURAGEOUSLY RUSH FORWARD,
patiently and prudently seek new opportunities,
confront problems with perseverance,
overcome toughest obstacles with friends,
roll up sleeves and set ladder even higher.

New year is right opportunity for RECKONING and new beginning.

HAPPY 2011 FROM ME TOO!!!

Oh oh, I can't get past you. I'm a seamstress for almost 20 years and a passionate hillwalker, to explain some things about materials, clothes themselves etc. You have to realize that some materials are basically very very bad today, because manufacturers save everywhere. The European market of super quality producers of these materials has collapsed under China, only a few remain, they have astronaut prices today but keep quality. Even our former material factories were top-notch, not today - I just pick it up and know it's "pofl" material, because I get a lot in my hands. I'll add that sometimes I get a new jacket worn out to the end, sometimes the same old one for a few years is like new, just change a zipper. A lot depends on the user themselves, some are really sloppy. So it's not necessary that a softshell from Hofer for 17€ wouldn't be just as functional as a top one. But there's something - we remained real mountain mannequins and we want to look even better when we arrive sweaty and muddy up to our ass, and for me it's important that I'm not cold, that I feel comfortable even if it's a bit messed up or wrinkled.
