Description:
21-05-2021: Meduno: Before the tunnel entrance it is possible to leave the car to walk the disused road that takes us to visit the Colvera gorge (Buso del Colvera) and the vertical walls on which several routes of the rock gym have been opened. To reduce travel time, at the exit of the second tunnel, turn sharply left parking before the bridge (408 m). After a few meters turn right along the track skirting the stream, up to the confluence of Colvera di Jouf with Colvera di Raut. The gorge narrows at a rocky bench where the track also becomes narrower and uneven. Now move away from the main stream bed rising moderately into the wood covering the northern slopes of Monte Jouf. Arrived at an old ruined building, find on the left the detour to visit Landri Scur. After passing next to a beautiful rock arch, arrive at a sort of natural amphitheater featuring a series of vaults carved into the rock. Back to the ruined cottage continue along the track for about two hundred meters to where the road ends. A sign indicates left the direction to Landri Viert, a place we can explore making a small loop. Descend to the stream bed, after a small narrow passage the track leads to a large cavity with a large arched vault, shaped by karst. The small path continues on the other side of the stream climbing among large moss-covered boulders. Higher up pass near the entrance of a small water-smoothed gorge worth a short visit to observe up close a series of very interesting erosion potholes. Follow the course of the small gorge for a few meters to where it ends in front of a smooth wall, above which we will pass on the return path. The loop continues overcoming a small landslide and reaches the ridge delimiting the gorge on the right. Here reverse direction and in a few minutes descend pleasantly to the track, passing above the small gorge visited before. Return to the ruined house (next to which is the arrival variant). Here we decide to do the variant to Baffui, arrived at locality Buffui, at a votive shrine dedicated to the Madonna, notice the sign for the Sentiero dei Landris. Descend along a wide stepped mule track that brushes a large ruined building. The house certainly deserves a visit. It is of ample dimensions, the wooden pergolas are partially collapsed but it is possible to peek at the lower floors, which include stables and kitchens. The path continues descending for a stretch skirting a fir wood on the left then, following a series of dry stone walls covered with heather, crosses a secondary stream and shortly after the bed of Colvera di Jouf. A few more meters and reach the lowest point after which climb briefly until finding oneself at the ruin already mentioned. Continue and arrived at the bridge decide to climb to Borgo Fornasatte then return to our starting point.
