The Säuling is Füssen's home mountain. Due to its free-standing position and characteristic shape, it is the landmark. With its round summit structure, it is a widely visible landmark and a demanding mountain hike. The view of the Eastern Allgäu lake landscape with Weißensee, Hopfensee, Forggensee, Bannwaldsee as far as Ammersee and Starnberger See as well as Hohenschwangau Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle is simply fascinating. In addition, the route shines with varied, interesting but for experts easy rocky terrain with scree. Although some practice is prerequisite, the round enjoys certain popularity. Secured climbing sections (I), attention the path from Säulinghaus to Gamswiese is rockfall endangered, are present at exposed spots. Surefootedness and freedom from vertigo are very necessary for the ascent.
