Description:
The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1214 and was the seat of the Silberberg families. It is located at 1,138 meters above sea level north of Hüttenberg, not far from the Styrian state border.
In the 16th century, the multi-part complex was built over the remains of the original castle. Old views from the 17th century still show an intact castle with a Romanesque bergfried, two residential buildings arranged at an angle to each other, and a separate gate complex.
