Description:
31-12-2021: Classic end-of-year hike for noon toast at the summit of Monte Jouf di Maniago. Monte Jouf is the mountain north of Maniago and offers a panoramic view over the entire plain. The excursion starting point is the Val Piccola parking lot, reachable from Maniago Libero. For the first part we ascended the forest track, rejoining CAI 983 trail at about 710 m. At next hairpin leave road and follow CAI 983 to summit meadows where Malga Jouf is present, open. Continue on mule track to 1224 m summit at large cross overlooking underlying Friulian plain, though traditional endpoint is 1203 m.
