Nepal - Everest BC

In the absence of local news this will come in handy too. Pictures from Nepal, about a week old specifically from the trek to the base camp under Everest. Whoever has similar wishes can learn firsthand what to take along, what to buy there, what to watch out for and a bunch of other little things nasmeh

Our group set two goals namely Gokyo Ri and Kala Patar with unique view on Everest. Nothing special regarding height difference but all the more interesting due to general altitude effect 5644 m. Do you know what happens to a Rio Mare can when you open it at that height zavijanje z očmi

On the first picture is Ama Dablam, right?? I'm going down there too... don't know when yet but definitely in the period of next three years. Did you travel via agency or on your own? lp

@šerpa - Ama Dablam yes. On the trek it steals your views for a long time nasmeh Indescribably beautiful.
There were 11 of us and we went with an agency about which I can say only top, top. In our case it proved to be a good decision as on return at Lukla airport thousands of people waited for flight due to a few days' bad weather. Our agency via connections arranged flight to Kathmandu same day so we caught already paid flights home. Bled group we met on the way went on their own and had no such connections. They missed all onward tickets and had to pay extra 800€ per person for new ones.

For the new route climbed in the northwest wall in 1996, Humar and Furlan received the "Golden Ice Axe" - they named it "Memorial Route of Stane Belak - Šrauf". In the opinion of many Himalayan alpinists, the most beautiful mountain in the world.

Can you tell us which agency you went with??? You can also post it on ZS. lp

@robter, Rio Mare disappear already when you open them nasmeh Little joke, but it's really big. The pressure difference when opening the can does its job. The same was with the cleaning wipes. When I bought them, they were a normal package, up there inflated like buns nasmeh

@BT88, price was 2200 €. It included everything except your own Sherpa if needed (recommended for at least two reasons nasmeh) and food and drinks of course. Breakfast included. For those and cheap gear buys add cca 500 to 800 € depending on person. Trip lasted 20 days.

@turbo, porters via agency, at least ours were. On Lukla landing they waited. Grabbed our 20 kg *piglets*, strapped with rope on back and forehead eek and off like I with shopping bag nasmeh. 11 of them like us, own leader Sherpa caring for comfort/logistics beyond imagination. Exceptional nasmeh

Chiming in too...think I know which agency. If not mistaken, I was with them this summer in Ladakh (Indian Himalaya) and rate them +10. Everything went smoothly and better.
