Trip suitable for off-trail lovers who master at least first-degree climbing. On this trip there's no path in the upper part, so really only for experienced hikers. Parked right after the sawmill, crossed the stream on abandoned cart track up to the pasture. Then straight up until reaching the ridge. Steepness is quite significant, in wet high slip risk. When reaching the ridge, hardest part behind, nice ridge walking starts. No path here, sometimes need hands. First view of surrounding hills when arriving at Akle. From it descend few tens of meters down then steep up again and on Starec. If clumsy descent can complicate. Cliff crossings can be annoying. I turned slightly left from top, then under rocks back right to old fence. From there more options, easiest forest road past hunting hut to start. I went more right under Srednji vrh wall. Nice path slowly down, reached forest road at abandoned house, from there about one km on gravel to car. Whole trip 3.5 hours.

Today on Starec. In line with the above description, in the off-trail part especially in current conditions with slope partly covered in snow, utmost caution needed, especially on descent. Then directly from Starec I set off searching for Hajnriharjeva planina. On maps it's marked very differently if at all (not unusual for a pasture). Walk along Bornova hunting fence and push through dense conifer forest. Head towards Srednji vrh and to my relief reach much sparser deciduous area (pic). Decide enough exploring for today and descend to valley where I quickly find relatively wide previously surprisingly unnoticed path joining the one I used for access to Starec Surely some expert can tell if I "was" on Hajnriharjeva planina or not. Due to my green years I lack historical knowledge when the pasture was abandoned. Can we still find remnants of human activity like meadow, half-collapsed hut? Or has so much time passed that forest covers everything?

@skalnati_dedec where was the starting point? Vobenca? I owe Starec since last year, but will tackle it in dry conditions.

Went over both peaks years ago and continued towards Kokra. Wanted to reach start in Vobenca but got off track and lost in cliffs above Kokra. Barely climbed out. Need to watch out, lots of gullies that look promising up top but lead over walls below. And lots of fallen trees after ice storm. If returning same way (south) no problem.

Start is Lobnica valley (Vobnica/Vobenca), not sure about road now, but in dry can drive to ca 900m asl, bit below turnoff to old partisan press Jošt. From there forest road quite high (~1300), then by feel up the steep to Starec. In snow/ice tricky terrain, really steep. No path up. Then can traverse ridge from Starec to Akle. Return same way or find nice passages from steep slopes of Akle back to road...

Wow, I see more interest in Starec than expected. I parked right on the road where stream/valley Lobnica/Vobnica/Vobenca joins Kokra, careful not to block forestry. Followed by 3 km walk on wide gravel road (turquoise), drivable. But early morning start worth using for warm-up and watch rising sun light Kočna, Srednji vrh and our goal. Path (orange) after bridge becomes steep vertical, gaining height starts. Upper zigzag less steep but offers some "fun". July visit path overgrown with sword-cutting grass, this time carefully avoid abundant dung. So if not crashing too much won't miss roe deer encounter. To Starec and Akle so far two different approaches (red). Previously first to saddle between peaks, this time as high as possible on path then direct to Starec. Neither feels optimal. Mostly used youthful strength and partly on all fours up the hill. From seen doubt easy path exists, but with thought and off-trail experience avoid issues. View from top not top-notch, but little moving along ridge catches most "neighbors". Starec attractive surely due to wilderness and "rawness".

Akle and Starec belong to Kamnik-Savinja Alps not Karavanke.

Ločanka, you immediately figured out why I was interested in the picture of Sr. vrh from this side... I hadn't seen the post, but I wanted to check if and how it would go.

No, I just knew that this Starec had already been talked about a long time ago, so I went to check right under that title. I have to admit that it has interested me since then and I've been constantly looking for it on maps and identifying it from peaks. But it's possible the post was somewhere else too .

Apparently I'm not the only one looking down into Vobenca from Srednji vrh . I know they've already skied...

Is this the one, did I identify it correctly? Taken from Javorov vrh.

@Trobec. According to the map, your descent looks the best

I was looking for the easiest descent. True, on the first try I didn't find myself on the best possible terrain p.s. there was some talk about continuing towards Srednji vrh... has anyone tried? It looks pretty steep and densely overgrown with dwarf pines... but maybe via some gully it would go... I couldn't check all the way to the top because it was in fog.
