Yesterday in Žibert inn with TK gora club there was an excellent presentation of MTB tour around Annapurna in Nepal.
Descriptions were very detailed and outlined in detail the 300 km path around Annapurna, as well as encounters with travelers and authentic contacts with locals, mountain environment and frequent settlements (lodge houses with food and lodging), which on the trail were no farther than 2h by bike. In the upper part of the trail there were also many 1.5 m paths carved into steep wall above abyss, hanging bridges which were calmest when riding bike over them, higher also snow crossings. The trail visits also the world's largest and highest lake Tilicho (4km x 1.2km, elev. 4919m). At altitude 5000m according to story there wasn't enough oxygen (half as much as in the valley) even for carrying bike anymore, some couldn't even walk the pass Thorung La at 5416m, where last autumn tragedy happened with tourists in snowstorm. On the way also appeared mighty Manaslu massif with its 8156m. They did 500-1000m elevation per day, the trip lasted about three weeks.
Very interesting event attracted many ski tourers and bikers, even met one of my downhill buddies who isn't tourer otherwise. Standing, we filled the last corners of TK space in g.Žibert.

Just a friendly addition - the documentary Hribovci pod krilom is about touring paragliders, i.e. people who hike or climb up to (high) mountains on foot and fly off from them - this is not a film about takeoffs from popular mid-mountain launch sites which you usually reach by car, but about more difficult high mountain areas of the Julian Alps, Kamnik Alps, Central Alps, Himalayas and Alaska...
