This one appeared on my home lawn. Since I'm really not an ornithology expert, I asked ChatGPT, which says it's a fledgling great tit (Parus major), that the parents have just thrown it out of the nest as a regular part of "training", so it learns a bit of hopping until it flies, they'll still feed it, apparently they were also diligently watching me from nearby while I was photographing...

For my photo I didn't need to go far. It's taken from the balcony. The apple tree grows a couple of meters from the house. If all goes well the birds will pick it this year (jays, all kinds of tits, bullfinches etc). They compensate for the lack of water in the forest with the juicy fruits of the apple tree.
Yes females like in all birds are not so strikingly beautiful.
What falls from the tree to the birds during the day at night is eaten by deer and roe deer. And that a few km from Ljubljana.
