Today in the right place to see these wonderful birds. Around half past twelve they flew towards NE. Above E part of Trstelj. About 90 of them.

These days they are migrating a lot, this afternoon two flocks of about 100 in total over Vipava Valley. The picture is from Wednesday, but on Tuesday they must have had an open day somewhere near Orban or Zelenci , as 5 or 6 flocks followed in a couple of hours, certainly about 600 birds altogether.

Today flight control obviously gave them permission later, because from around 13h to 17.30 flocks followed one after another. Although I follow these crane migrations for several years, I have never seen anything like this, as about 3000 birds flew over lower Vipava Valley in this time. Due to great distance and flock size the recording is not good.

I was also amazed yesterday around 17-something. We were walking the dog from Douc towards Lukovec. Some four flocks were visible. Two were flying towards the sea. Maksi was a bit scared because of the noise when they flew close by.

Some migrants arrive only in about a month, other birds now chirp and promise, third ones, among them dipper, already feed offspring.
Otter marking is also there where it should be.

Fly, fly swallow. They are a bit late. But it's known there was quite some work with rebuilding the old nest. They dismantled it and in a few days wove a new nest. You just watch how skillful they are.
