Dog's tooth is a flower similar to cyclamen. Because cyclamen don't bloom here before mid-June.

Today with younger son searching for first Pasque flowers of this year. nasmeh

Via Detička and direct path to summit, descent to hut via Shadow path full of obstacles and almost impassable, for mushroom soup with buckwheat dumplings. jezik

Then search for first Pasque flowers, site at hut still completely empty, on the big one one flower near fence, nicest bouquet farther away, counted five flowers and about ten hairy buds. mežikanje

Satisfied we returned via Baba to start.

Interesting, it has already bloomed. My opinion is that this Pasque flower site is slowly disappearing. As can be seen, there are fewer every year.

Since we discovered the spring of sour water in Kostrivnica, we sometimes drive there and from that starting point go to Boč summit. Path lonely and scenic. nasmeh

This time we went to the old mill and looked for path out of the gorge. Somehow we managed to find the path. Exploring Boč and surroundings is becoming really interesting.
Weather wasn't the best, so we skipped Boč summit and hut visit this time.
We went to the love bench, mežikanje

then to Velikonočnice hut, which was unfortunately closed. Open on Sundays and holidays. Picked lungwort. Back to start on asphalt. :eek
Nicely used time, and no need to get up early.

From Studenice. And back to Studenice. Priten plain, easy goal of simple and short activity. First raindrops on return to goal... Rainy night ahead nasmeh

Boč also me yesterday... Need to be careful, abnormally slippery on mud. More of us showed signs we landed on softer body parts. Part of path from hut up still closed due to fallen trees, from talk with local woman learned removal too dangerous.

Visited Boč for the very first time nasmeh

. Partly due to longer drive to start, even more due to excellent paths near closer Celje. Better weather forecast for this part of Slovenia decided. Wanted to use the day fully, so planned longer loop from Zg. Poljčane. Morning parked in front of St. Cross church and in cool of Dravinja headed towards Zbelovo.

Left bike path shortly before bridge over river and climbed bank to scenic church of Our Lady near Ljubički vrh. Followed descent to Lovnik and on opposite valley side steep ascent over bare slopes to plateau. Continued under Galke and via nice forest trail reached Pasque flower site. Quite surprised here, expected purple fields like crocus on Velika planina or fescue under Srebotnik. Nothing like that, but saw Pasque flowers live. First time of course nasmeh

Short break followed at pleasant mountain shelter and then to Boč summit. Tower special kind, two hardly meet on stairs. But excellent viewpoint, as befits Karavanke velik nasmeh

. Descended unmarked ridge path towards Formin and shortly after turned to Studenice. There viewed former monastic church of Three Kings and above found path to continue. It took us to Podboče and further to start. More in photostory ...

Start coordinates (Zg. Poljčane): 46°18'14.311"N, 15°34'56.823"E

The large parking lot in front of the church is still empty. We are the first and probably the only ones for a long time.

After the bike ride, we head towards Zbelovo. It is cold and the path is still shady.

The Dravinja is mostly to blame for the cold. We noticed the consequences of its raging during the floods in many places.

At the bridge we turn left up the slope. The views expand, but the sun persists on the opposite side :)

After the steep ascent to the last houses, we finally reach the gravel path.

At the Church of the Mother of God, the first rays of sun catch us. Finally :)

The location is excellent, the views reach far around.

Here runs the Loško Zbelovska as well as the Styrian variant of Jakob's Way. We only visit the nearby Ljubični vrh.

We descend past the buildings near the church. Probably there was some sacristan's house here.

We descend into another valley. The goal is Lovnik.

A hamlet on the path. If I remember correctly, it belongs under Zbelovsko gora.

The slopes are everywhere sown with vineyards. In the background the church from which we just came.

Lovnik is already behind us, the markers by the road direct us towards Boč.

View back. Beautiful weather has set in.

Bravo, the two of us, we are on the right path :)

Higher up there are more fallen trees. The surrounding ridges look mown down.

It's no better here either. Sad sight, maybe the greenery will improve the impression.

Everything is nicely marked. Here runs the Wine Hills Trail to Boč.

We are somewhere below Galkami. The path is beautiful, the sun is pampering us :)

Eventually we reach a fenced hillock with an info board and ... a security guard.

Inside the fence, some Easter flowers are basking in the sun. I photograph the nearest one for memory.

The break is not far anymore. It's about time :)

Mountain hut on Boč, well-visited and with a pleasant atmosphere.

We don't wait long and we're already served. They even have kremšnita :)

Now explain to the youth what is in these wrappers :)

I don't know exactly if the wood is for this or next winter :)

Through the birch avenue heading to the Styrian Triglav.

We are not the only ones, many others have the same goal.

Old and young from all sides. Incredible, a scene like from some Šmarke.

After not so short ascent to the top, the tower with narrow stairs finally appears.

No crowd, so we are quickly at the top. Also a souvenir of the first ascent to Boč :)

The view is excellent, most interesting on the nearby military facilities.

Followed by a quick descent from the tower while the stairs are free. The shady path is apparently closed, so we continue along the ridge.

The path is not marked but traceable. It is also the most direct descent in the direction where we are headed.

We are still quite high and the trees are completely bare. But there are incredibly many snowdrops everywhere.

Soon we turn sharply left and slowly head back towards the starting point.

Here we turn towards the hunting lodge, as we plan to visit the monastery too.

Hunting hut, well-kept and with plenty of feeders nearby.

We pick up the trail below the hut. We hadn't counted on this, but fortunately there are not many fallen trees.

Surprise, dark sky and first raindrops. The weather obviously didn't heed the forecast :)

Ancient homesteads near the monastery complex.

Partially renovated monastery. It looks nice from outside, much remains to be done inside.

People fill water en masse from the karst spring with a constant temperature of 15°C.

In total it added up to 25 km and 1200 m elevation gain.

Today main goal northwest part of Plešivca. To the stream ,,Plešivec,, and junction with it on forest road. Springs a few hundred meters higher below Plešivca summit. And sinks back underground towards Formila. mežikanje

And probably emerges again ,,out,, above Studenice in springs of Studeniški/Warm stream. From Studenice to junction with stream approx. 6.30 km. Not very watery and that was it in nasmeh

I didn't think I'd ever get to Boč. It didn't particularly pull me. And it's far from us too. Well, I finally gave in to the nagging and was quite happy we visited it.
Of course pasque flowers were the main attraction, though there are extremely few. Actually I could easily count them. Since there are so few and some came up with "shovels" to dig them out, now guardians help protect them, yesterday it was a female guardian.
I have to admit the area around the Hut on Boč is exceptionally beautiful. You can't just pass by, we stopped for coffee nasmeh

. Only when you sit there and look around the life there can you really relive the hut and take an impression of it with you. Otherwise no real impression. When we climbed through the birch avenue up to the summit itself nice bird song accompanied us, and the horse pasture there has its charm too.

We also climbed the tower top, without that no real summit. Otherwise ascent via path over Baba, descent Detička path. Definitely the one over Baba is much nicer nasmeh

how devotedly it sang on a nearby branch, cikovt or nightingale it is called

so you have to go further in that direction

There aren't many of them, that's why they are all the more precious.

In between also the guardian of these little flowers.

Through this birch avenue we went, but only after coffee.

The path through the avenue filled with birdsong.

This one here just fell silent from its beauty.

From Studenice. To central crossroads/junction of forest roads between Studenice/Makole part of Boč. And back to Studenice. Easy and snow line I didn't mežikanje

On Easter Saturday one mežikanje

proper one into Boč world. From Studenice. Main goal Formila clearing. And back to Studenice. Sunny and warm for the season. Same route done last September...

Through Stara Drevesnica. From Studenice. On east path along feeders and junction with forest road to Boč top was at 665m. Immediate turnaround and return to valley. Abundance of wild garlic along path and also gatherers of the excellent herb at lower elevations directly above Studenice. Otherwise ,,hazy days,, and Pohorje to north wasn't mežikanje
