On Sunday, 16.09.2012 a concrete one into the forests of Boča & Plešivca via Formilska bike path. Yes, there mežikanje ,,still can be found,, something new and never ridden or hiked before...And those were the geographical terms Mala & Velika kopa, which I connected by bike via Plešivec, Dedni vrh above Makole and Ravnocerje plateau into one story...

Activity on Boč & Plešivec - today first time by bike - (also not hiked yet) at geographical points - Mala and Velika kopa. I somehow connected the points into a common story via Plešivec and Dedni vrh. Same name I assume due to very similar shape. While Mala kopa is even higher and quite indistinct between Plešivec summit and Dedni vrh, Velika kopa at 675 meters is much more prominent and rises above Ravnocerje plateau and drops south towards Stari grad above Makole...To Velika kopa from Makole direction, which is much harder while I did the descent to Rogaška side - to Ravnocerje plateau, which is very easy. During ascent also ,,spotted,, for next time and really wonderful forest transverse path connecting Vrhovski farm and Resenik ,,Makole-Stoperško,, or Sv. Ana was discovered and ridden...

Terrain partly wet, maybe already a shade not warm enough but still solid conditions.mežikanje Yes, even with such miniatures the mosaic is built into a more concrete story and !? new insights on Boč & Plešivec paths in less visited - I'd say still more pristine world and that's how it should be. Then some more connections on Boč and return to Poljčane via Studenice.

On Saturday 22.09.2012 afternoon the mežikanje Formilska bike path was an excellent starting point for repeated activity in the Velika kopa sector...Specifically I was interested in some points below the Velika kopa summit namely less known passages along the bed of Veliki potok between Velika kopa and Plešivec...SOURCE:Geopedia and the area of Velika kopa named ,,Rudeka,, and ,,Šlog,,. Veliki potok crosses as many as three forest roads and even more forest paths and track in the triangle between the above mentioned peaks and Dedni vrh above Makole. Connections as seen practically no one uses but they allow excellent connection of Veliki potok watershed and more MTB-traversable to the connection farm Vrhovski - Sv. Ana. Rudeka and Šlog - smaller closed geographical areas and quite unique world at the transition between Makole and Rogaška part of Boča, which are less known.

mežikanje On return also first time to 679 m high Ravnocerje summit after which the plateau and also the farm below it ,,pri Ranciršeku,, is named. Access to the summit is very easy, just over 100 m above ,,Bratska štajerska pot,, but everyone somehow rushes past it onwards in other directions and then also on quite demanding forest track between upper and lower forest road under Plešivec, where today was the most demanding part of the path. Then also a jump to the very summit Plešivec for one ,,El laso,, and return via Formila and mountaineers' hut on Boč back to Poljčane already in the dark part of the day again. Paths partly wet and also some muddy sections. Yes, it was another micro insight into the world that allows also more demanding connections between Boč to... and Donačka gora or also Haloze Jelovice on the other side. Expected altitudes and kilometers.

On Sunday 30.09.2012 afternoon to Boč & Plešivec especially in the triangle Dedni vrh - Sv. Ana above Makole - Ravnocerje. Many times below Dedni vrh in various activities but today first time to the very summit. Excellently accessible from the north side, where almost to the summit a forest track leads, which hunters also use for supplying a larger feeding ground and access to hunting stand. Access in the last part along a short ridge section, which is quite picturesque. The summit is not very pronounced and offers no views. Some call it also after the waterfall below it - Šošterica. From east and west sides it forms the basic or initial watershed of Šega stream. I descended the south side, which is much steeper and rocky but also short.

Then the decision fell to connect Dedni vrh with Sv. Ana chapel above Makole 460 m a.s.l. along the shortest line below Velika kopa and then also with Ravnocerje summit 679m a.s.l. The mentioned summits and especially the plateaus-meadows below them enable as I already wrote the shortest connection over Boč between Makole and Rogaška Slatina or Makole and Rogaška part of Boča...Path to Sv. Ana is varied although somewhat disturbing because it runs partly under power lines but aluminum in Kidričevo ,,needs power,,. Return I complicated a bit more with return along Štajerska mountaineering brotherly path and via Formila clearing added also Sv. Marjeta chapel and thus connected it with Sv. Ana into one story.

Conditions for riding today quite suitable, temperature ,,still right,, so I didn't need extra ,,pants and jacket,,. Some somewhat more muddy sections in unventilated and not very sun-rich ,,gjačah,,...and today full ,,woods,,. Yes, today was probably the most crowded day of the whole year due to collecting autumn gifts of nature - mainly in form of chestnuts and mushrooms, which unexpectedly grow well these days. And at the end almost marathon distance and one and a half thousand altitude meters also on partly new paths and connections between them...

Formilska bike path was on Sunday 07.10.2012 starting point for MTB activity that led me to the hill or summit at 761 meters above Gavez farm or Rogaška Slatina hunting lodge., which I hadn't ,,pointed,, yet. The summit (still) unnamed although unofficially some call it Gavezov vrh,, due to the farm below it and located a bit to the right in direction to Donačka gora.

Several times I noticed hikers, walkers, runners in this area. I climbed to it by bike first time along quite pleasant forest path - probably overgrown track, which has become half singletrack and I assume it's a pleasant shortcut shortening the path to the mountaineering path for Rogaška Slatina, which runs nearby. Spotted some promising continuations but mežikanje had to leave Boč quickly. On the way to the mountain hut and further back to the valley ,,caught in violent thunderstorm,, and for quite some time - year I haven't been on Boč so thoroughly ,,washed,, and also ,,thundered nicely,,.

mežikanje Yes, definitely this also belongs to bike MTB ,,deal,, and it's right if you start too late...Another snapshot along more routine paths on Boč. I like such late ones, when you still somewhere without extra lights manage some solid altitudes - approx.700 for nice end of day and more insight...Activity completely circular, although on Formila only two-three meters mežikanje ,,air,,, so no ,,cutting,, the path...

On Sunday's 20 kilometers on 21.10.2012 along the starting Formila bike path from Poljčane to Boč and for the first time by bike to three peaks or points... Golnik 623 m.a.s.l., Kisovec 734 m.a.s.l. and Galke 687 m.a.s.l.. Golnik and Galke are points with easy bike access while Kisovec is much more demanding. The Golnik peak is located above the hunters' hut of LD Poljčane. Often already directly below it but, since there wasn't much time today and not much motivation, a jump to the point, which is well rideable both on ascent and descent. A real miniature for a bit of adrenaline.

nasmeh Yeah, the 734 meters high Kisovec, which rises above the Formila clearing somewhere to the north-east, was a completely different story. The colleagues and acquaintances from hiking and MTB circles were right that this is presumably the most demanding peak or point in the wider Boč area and that they wanted to see how I would ,,conquer it,, by bike. A little bit was rideable then real, not even hiking but already quite ,,mountaineering,, approach to the very top from the north side. Even the approach along the ridge afterwards was ,,messy,, but I wanted to force it more with the bike to the top ,,one way or another,,. I doubt if anyone has been there by bike yet and I myself will have a hard time motivating for a second time because it's pointless anyway but for ,,GiPSal - zadžipisiral,, I did mežikanje it. Descent also barely rideable... Continuing with another pleasant peak Galke at 687 meters a stone's throw from the pasqueflower site on Boč under which runs what many consider the most beautiful hiking path to Boč from Pečica pass.

I had little time on a nice, I'd say quite idyllic October Sunday but still three new ,,pointings,, of peaks by bike and some new insights into the geographic world - very similar to karst... Best regards

Before evening a shorter one with MTB to Boč. For intro some flat under Dravinjske gorice directly above Dravinja river and continuing through Podboč settlement higher ,,classic,, above Golnik hut, between Formila clearing, climbing area and below Stavski vrh... for some basic ,,bočki thrill,,. Path mostly dry and just some muddy parts. Elevation gain just enough to meet the minimum...

And what marked the activity today!? Mainly ,,fields,, of blooming wild garlic higher up and freshly mown meadows along Dravinja river and right tributary Bela along which I biked the last few meters directly before the confluence. The scent of blooming wild garlic and freshly mown meadows somehow marks this time... Micro tour that still has its charm and point before the end of daylight. Met no one due to late hour but among locals I'm somewhat known that mežikanje I often ,,close bočki,, paths during the week. Best regards

On Boč & Plešivec to Grilova chapel at 534 meters under Grilov hrib still quite high on the Rogaška part of Boča today a partially circular Sunday afternoon path from Poljčane/Studenic led me by bike. Intersection or directly near numerous paths from Rogaška Slatina to Boč and interesting natural landmark in connection with the hill above it. In the sultry and probably record hot day on Boč, and that's what I somehow wanted and maybe mežikanje ,,why did I need this,, but still a pleasant experience. So first time by bike descent from under Plešivec to Grilova chapel along forest path, according to some the most important spiritual point of Boč and surroundings of course by St. Marjeta church. Rang the bell seven times for luck and quickly continued along forest road under southern massif of Plešivec, which I also rode for the first time because time was late. Of course the activity needed to be balanced somewhat to make it medium demanding, so ascent from Ravnegacerje along forest/hiking path for a nice circular detour around Plešivec and return via climbing area and Formila...Podboča back to Poljčane. No photos today, but memory will remain mežikanje in form of traces of one slightly strained & sultry day...Boč & Plešivec/Grilov hrib/kapela, 28.07.2013 Best regards

In the landscape park Boč & Plešivec to the east to the plateau Ravnocerje and Grilova chapel or Grilov hrib, Gavez and to the top of 822 m high Plešivec. Continuing via climbing area, Formila clearing, Sv. Marjeta and Sv. Miklavž back to Poljčane in a circular tour. Pleasant temperature, somewhat wet paths and light wind. A tour of medium difficulty and mixed terrain... Solid insight into the somewhat higher Rogaška part of Boča and Plešivca... For some ,,little concrete,, of Boč return from Studenice via old Roman road, vineyards/Pritensko back to Podboč settlement. To the church Sv. Ana above Makole from Poljčane via Boč and Plešivec with MTB, under Velika Kopa along the bed of Veliki potok, torrent Šlog and peak - point Rudeka. Sv. Ana lies on the very edge of the landscape park Boč & Plešivec and there the world of the extreme eastern peaks of the Karavanke breaks with the Haloze. Conditions fairly muddy, at times strong wind from eastern directions. This variant I like more than from Ravnegacerje via Vrhovski, because it goes through uninhabited world and is practically completely closed. Along the entire path there is no homestead, weekend house... directly by the path from the monastery complex in Studenice onwards... and it is thus a pristine ,,bočki,, world. The world along Veliki potok, Šlog and Rudeka all the way to Sv. Ana is thus a somewhat unique world of Karavanke slopes and first Haloze ,,cliffs,,. For a late December date and Sunday of the fourth Advent the conditions are of course optimal.

On the return also to the plateau Ravnocerje, along the ridge road under Plešivec, by the climbing area, partisan hospital, via Formila clearing and by the Poljčane hunters' hut under Golnik back to Studenice or to Poljčane directly home. Yes, it was certainly one nice afternoon day over the first full 24 hours... winter day. Total 40 km and 1200 m elevation.

Plešivec at 822 meters and Sv. Marjeta with surroundings: the basic points of the bike route. Start from Studenice, paths dry, a light breeze somewhat cooling. Somehow circled both points and connected them into a whole. Fewer visitors or recreation seekers today, forecast of afternoon showers and the time was a bit late. It was pleasant for sure today on Boč & Plešivec paths...

After a few years mežikanje of postponing, today finally to the 616 m high summit of Boč in the southern part - Drenovec. Indistinct summit by the forest road between farms Šeklič and Polajžer. A forest skidder track leads almost to the top, which hasn't been active for some time. Since I postponed it for long, today to it in a wider tour between points Poljčane/Podboč - Formila - Dedni vrh - Ravnocerje plateau - Grilov hrib junction - Gavez - Sv. Marjeta - PD Poljčane hut on Boč - Poljčane. Pleasant conditions, paths dry, surfaces otherwise not demanding... Total 33 km and 1000 m ascent and same descent.

First official summer day only a few hours, afternoon by bike to Plešivec from Poljčane. It was cold and not at all appropriate to the date. Paths mostly dry, some muddy sections for sample and pleasant atmosphere. Tour somehow in the shape of a small loop in the summit part or ... ,,El lasso,, shape.

One atypical combination in Boč and Plešivec landscape park. Extreme/boundary points... north/Podboč, Černogetova linden... east/Ravnocerje plateau... south/Plešivec 822 summit... and west/former Drevenik refreshment hut and quite a few points between them... 1000 m elevation ,,overcome,, and conditions on path and weather ideal for this time. Without ,,photographing,, for more enjoyment...
Also on Boč need to ,,grind,, but once you reach 650/700 m lots of options for ,,gliding,, which isn't too strenuous between individual points that somehow assemble into a mosaic of impressions and vistas... Nice and just mežikanje pleasant it was.

Classic MTB on Boč. Studenice, Brunarica Golnik, jasa Formila, PD Poljčane hut on Boč and back by pasque flower site, today for change even on asphalt to Zgornje Poljčane/Poljčane. More or less followed Formila MTB path. Terrains wet partly muddy. Rains spared. Met some recreation seekers who were fighting km and elevation in running or MTB technique. Of course around mountain hut more crowded. Activity short but enough for basic ,,stretch,, today on mežikanje home terrains. Yeah, vegetation on Boč & surroundings expressive this year, not like for years... abundance of rains of course. Activities much more pleasant than in dried environment of past years... Lp
