Well, to me it was just the opposite, those few exposed cables from the Sovatna direction were harder for me than later down to Luknja. But it was completely dry weather. LP

Up through Luknja, down through Sovatna. Morning clear, later mists crept in but also cleared so there were nice views too.
The descent through Sovatna always drags on for me endlessly.
In Vrata already early morning full of cars.

21.8.2021-B.G. It is still one of the most beautiful peaks surrounded by all slightly larger neighbors, thus providing exceptionally nice views of neighbors, lakes, valleys and less dangerous for access. MI2, we went from Trenta to Luknja and summit, we descended to prag, Kriške pode and back to Trenta. Chamois up there anyway one real treasure.

Did anyone go to Bovec Chamois over Luknja and back through Sovatno? Is there still snow anywhere?

Both paths to Gamsovec are dry, if someone plans in coming days. We were with cousin yesterday up.

today on Bovski Gamsovec.

Start in Vrata at 6:30 and then ascent towards Luknja which took us under 2 hours. Further the path was dry until we reached the cirque, where we bypassed the snow with easy climbing (pic 17). On the ridge there was another snow patch, but not problematic. On top it was blowing pretty strong from the north. Not many visitors, around 10 people and on the way we saw some ibex and chamois. On the way back we went to check the bivouac under Luknja but you need keys for it. Whole trip with breaks took about 7 hours.

Yesterday-Saturday, start from Zadnjica past the hut where a bunch of young girls were cheerfully working. Path from hut onwards crosses a couple of non-problematic snow patches, only the last one 50m before D Vratca we bypassed over rocks and greens on the right. Further to the summit and descent to Luknja no more snow hindering the walk.

Yesterday I went via Sovatna to Bovski Gamsovec and down via Luknja. A bit below Dovski Vratci there's still one non-problematic snow patch, the rest is dry.

Luknja-summit-Luknja. Path without peculiarities, there are some spots needing a bit more skill and some spots where, on the otherwise wide trail, caution is needed due to the drop below it.

...beasts. (Alpine little giant with grasping chelicerae. Dry southerners are very sociable and gentle spiders. With a bit of luck, you can observe how they gently hold on with the tips of their palps.)

Today I went up via Sovatna and down via Luknja. Below the wire in Sovatna there's still a snow patch that's a bit tricky to cross without gear because it's quite steep. But at one spot it's very narrow and I could kick steps into it, so crossed without issue (actually just two steps on snow). Higher up there are (I think) two short snow crossings, but completely non-problematic. Path via Luknja is completely dry.

Path to the top is snow-free both via Sovatno and via Luknja, the protections are in good condition (one piton is pulled out though and the cable is not taut).

Chamois have put on a real show, attaching a photo story.

I was last weekend from Zadnjica - up through Luknja, down through Kriške pode. This circular one is one of my favorites.

Went a couple of days ago from Zadnjica over Kriške pode and a quick first to Razor and back, then from the pods along the marked path towards Dovška vrata and then to Gamsovec and descent to Luknja and onwards towards the starting point in Zadnjica. More here: link
