Park at the elementary school in Žirovnica, and past the church of St. Lawrence to Mali vrh. Just before the sankaška hut, turn right; you can return via Juliani trail or descend slowly transversely back to the starting point. This way you avoid asphalt or macadam on the other side of the ridge. Alternatively from Završnica, return to the starting point through the tunnel at the water reservoir.

pantharej thanks. I know those variants but the plan is to traverse the ridge properly from Most to Begunje and then return (several options).

Hm, I parked at the "main intersection" in Žirovnica and then went along the railway to the railway tunnel and up the hill there. I don't know if that's still possible...

First time I parked here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Wy9YmZDm7syoTiki6 and walked along the sidewalk to the start of the ridge.
You can also ask if they allow you to park in front of the inn: https://maps.app.goo.gl/eWCaVWjo66soRjsB7; in that case, you have a minute to the path leading to the start of the ridge. A few steps past the inn, you turn into the street, pass three houses and a garden (on the left side), and then at the end of the asphalt (if they haven't extended it in the meantime) left up the hill.

Today I traversed the entire ridge from Most to Begunje and back to the car as described by Prle and it was super. The real name is Smokuški ridge and not Brezniške Peči ridge. On the path some fallen trees but not disturbing. I'll return because it's super. From the monument to the victims steep and wet gully (started at 6am). Logbooks all in good condition. The ridge was covered by fog in between but it cleared later. On the path I saw quite a few roe deer which is sad, why? Total 16km and 780+ m elevation gain since I stuck to the ridge line everywhere, only at the big rock I went around and back to its top, worth it but exposed. Enjoyment for solo hiking, only spoiled by the sound from the valley 🙂 Satisfied for the first time.

Hello, has anyone traversed this ridge with a dog accustomed to mountains and rocky paths? Is there any section particularly tricky, difficult, or exposed in this regard? How many such spots to climb are there in total, so I can better imagine. The dogs have already managed some secured/rocky path sections, we go to the mountains quite a lot. We would go from Završnica and loop back via Završnica. Thanks for the advice!

No issues with dogs on this ridge, I went with both of mine, and my friend with hers, and they roamed freely all over the ridge. The biggest danger is snakes - not sure exactly if vipers or grass snakes, which are active early in spring if it's sunny. You have to watch a bit so the dog doesn't stick its snout somewhere and get bitten. The path itself is BP. I always returned via Titovo vas, it's interesting to check out, recommend
