Yesterday on Briceljk. In the lower forest section there are lots of fallen trees complicating orientation, especially first time. In the gully below the summit there is still snow, passable with some scrambling on the left side along the short cleft, otherwise recommend winter gear. Rest no issues.

Saturday Briceljk. Went with Maksi at 7:15 from Bavšica. I waited those 15 minutes till dawn, as at 7 it was still dark. And cold. Minus 3 at the parking lot. Path known to me. Now without high grass much more visible. Except 4 lost sheep and a chamois herd we met almost no one. Forest path well passable. Probably hunters cleared the fallen trees. Maybe for someone who hasn't been there yet, below the summit at the scree and boulders it's harder to find the path. Easier if you know it. There are cairns, but not everywhere. Summit windy. Weather change noticeable. Views really nice. This year Maksi has two summits hiked in Loška stena. Also the lower Plešivec.

Sunday views from the path. And summit. Now that the grasses are dry the path is quite followable. Also more cairns help than last year, as I remember. On such a nice day only a handful of us up there. Two Zagreb girls who crossed Loška stena. Otherwise known. We met this year on Pirhovec. 30.10.2022.

Lijaneja, thanks. Yes, in this time it's nicest up there. But days are short. Not too demanding for Maks. He's used to such paths. Also for us now, with that long traffic light before Kobarid, it's quite a longer trip. They're fixing that narrow part of the road and traffic will be rerouted around for some time. Now there's real chaos there. In the morning I was lucky to wait only 15 minutes. Problem on weekdays because they drive on red. On the way back more waiting was needed. Some foreigners who don't know the regime drove against and had to pull over. Those two Zagreb girls came from Vrh Krnic along the ridge. Probably continued to Stador. I approached one when they were at the summit. Otherwise they said they started a bit after five in the morning winter time. I even gave them some water because I had enough with me. They had a rope with them, where belaying was needed.

And here's Friday's Briceljk. For comparison, in summer and high grasses. Since the path is known, Marijan and I didn't need navigation. The third expedition member was there for the first time on this now pathless summit. There were faded marks visible on the forest path. In the grasses there were more cairns than last year. One needs to be careful because of holes in the high grass. Especially the descent is quite demanding. Because of the nice views we could see all surrounding peaks. We wondered where they go to Stador when it looks impassable from all sides. Vrh Krnic was really close. And Morež too. We didn't meet anyone. We thought it would be colder but it was warm all the way and on summit too. (11.08.2023.)

Yesterday on the summit. Wonderful, nicely followable path with exceptional views. Nettles sting nicely. Raspberries are very tasty. Holes in grass require caution. Loud marmots skillfully avoided the lens. Of chamois only their droppings were seen. Blind passengers (ticks) I didn't bring to the valley. In short, I'll return because I'm surprised by the beauties of this hitherto unknown goal for me.

Briceljk from Bavšica. We went with Maks on the known path from Bavšica. Quarter to eight. Not even early. Just right to be at the summit at twelve. And we weren't alone. Three young guys set off to this little visited summit. The path is visible. But more like pathless. In the gully between Briceljk and Morež the trail gets lost. Cairns help a lot. Well we had no problems. The guys ahead who were there first time had the path drawn on phone. One even said he was on Pelci. Day nice as forecasters predicted. (22.9. 2024)

Finally on Briceljk on a nice late autumn day. Between Logje and Planina Bala a landslide destroyed part of the path, so you have to scramble a bit. In the gully and already on the scree a couple cm of loose snow. Whole day blissful peace, no one anywhere.

I was also hoping for this view from the third picture when I was on Briceljk for the first time two months ago, but due to thick fog I couldn't see five meters away. But I can be glad I didn't get lost.nasmeh
