Maybe someone knows what the snow conditions are like on Briceljk or the Loška stena peaks in general?

Lijaneja, I always check the weather for mountains on www.yr.no, the best forecast for peaks for me. So far I can say it's accurate to the hour.

The mentioned Norwegian forecast isn't accurate even for their own fjords, tested last week.
Better use our Aladin model weather forecasts (local with 5km resolution, height forecasts and medium-term regional forecasts) - with a bit of knowledge reading the mentioned data and geography and experience (how fronts move through mountain groups in SLO), you can predict weather accurately for 3h for a day or 2 ahead (depending on how unstable the atmosphere is)...
For ultra-short-term forecast (1 to 2h ahead) better use radar image and INCA forecast and some common sense...

Thanks for the help, although it came a bit late and we were hauling iron up. Among forecasters I also trust Norwegians most, though they've disappointed me badly too, by far the worst is hribi.net.
Janez, I'll pay more attention to the suggested Aladin in future.

Regarding weather you look so long until you find one that predicts nice weather. Tone, is snow melting on Pelci yet? :-)

Tone, this time you blew it a bit. Just Tuesday morning you explained to me that all foreign and some domestic forecasts for Loška stena predict showers already in the morning, thunderstorms in the afternoon, except Hribi.net where sun was drawn for the whole day. And indeed, from 8am to 9pm we had only five minutes of light rain. Who has the most accurate forecast then? Obviously Hribi.net!

Here, Matjaž, first-hand.
Ivo, 1:100 that they get it right. Yesterday we (I) were lucky it was like that.
Don't bluff too much or I'll drive off with your carmežikanje
On the western side of Pelcev there is still quite a bit of snow.1

On Sunday there was too much wind for flying, so I went to explore some unknown areas of our western Alps. Because above Log pod Mangartom rises probably the most magnificent wall among us - Loška stena - and since I want to climb it in winter, I went on a scouting tour to walk the descent from the top of the wall.

I started late from Bavšica valley (at 11am), but the cooling the day before ensured it wasn't too hot for me. After two and a half hours I was at the summit. On the ascent I went a bit too far towards Morež, so a small jump awaited me on the ridge.

Descent is quite tedious. Great steepness and all grass, so out of caution I progress slower than on the ascent. Past the boulders there's lots of grass again, with the trodden path barely visible.

Wonderful tour. The whole day I met no one (except at the parking), only ibexes, a marmot and bearded vultures kept me company. People were probably crowding Triglav, Vršič, Jasna lake, etc. May it remain so in the future nasmeh velik nasmeh

To Briceljk on 14.7.2020. From Bavšica. The morning was clear. Not even cold and much less dew than a week ago when we went to Bavški Grintavec. The path is well visible all the way to the hunting hut on Bala pasture. There we fill up water that flows lower along the path. Continuing, we turn left into the forest. Across southern slopes. The little path, now with high grass, is almost invisible. But for now still followable. At least we had no problems. Also this time Marjan had the path drawn on his phone, since we didn't know how it would be further. When you reach the cirque between Briceljk and Stador, the path turns left. Cairns help where the path is lost among boulders. And caution there is really not superfluous. We met an early hiker descending. He chatted. Told where to go in the last part because there's still snow. In the gully below summit. Snow is melting but will remain some time. No problems there. Hawks circled above us all the way. Herd of ibexes undisturbed. Some marmots too. Didn't think I'd see two adders on the path. In high grass. But both withdrew before I stepped there. Noticed movement in grass. Managed to photo one, the other hid under rock. For flower lovers these areas are great. Now full of flowers everywhere. Stayed on summit a while. Someone brought a bouquet and left it there. Descent same path to start. What to say. Comparing previous tour from this valley to Bavški Grintavec and this to Briceljk, Briceljk seems more demanding fitness-wise. Maybe because of walking steep grass. But each has its charm. Not surprised to meet few people on such paths. These paths, as long as somewhat traceable, remain for lovers of pristine nature.

Mountain offering exceptional views and on Saturday 8 August it was really wonderful.
Starting point Bavšica and slowly and nicely to the summit.
No problems on the path.
