@Becar: not every cold is covid. Precisely your side gets upset because (supposedly) all diseases are counted as covid. There is a small probability of course that it was covid which I as vaccinated recovered from in very mild form, but the chance for that is a few percent. There are many other viruses and bacteria circulating around this time.
@Mitja and @Delo: you have no idea what CS is or what our police uses. What they use is a fart against real CS, a very very mild CS solution, which you get in small bottles as defense spray in hunting stores and army shops. Surely they wouldn't sell combat poisons to the wide population.
If they sprayed real CS, half of Ljubljana would croak. And yes, they use it in quite a few (also western countries), although due to safety (not nice if direct to face), increasingly replaced by pepper-based tear gas.
Geneva conventions, as DELO correctly notes, apply only in war. The army, at least in western, democratic (so-called) countries doesn't have it (shouldn't have it at least).

Look, violence up or down, would you rather have it like they acted against demonstrators in Germany: no tear gas, no water cannon but whole battalion of police with batons, who beat the pants off the demonstrators well! To hospital from 5000-head crowd 50 were taken, arrested easily many more, around 400.
Funny how some say Europe will be horrified by this. Nothing! They have much more there and our police methods are still mild compared to some in the west.

Ahaaa, because no Janša there who supposedly screwed everything, not because maybe there they are much more socially responsible, left political squabbles and didn't mix into epidemic or at least united in this, especially because there they are willing to forgo some comfort and sacrifice for others (vulnerable), unlike selfish, spoiled and scared Europe where all demand only rights, no one would forgo a piece of their comfort for others.
