Data from the covid tracker website. By age groups: Deceased - Confirmed cases. Data as of 6.1. Covid tracker collects data from NIJZ and Ministry of Health. According to these data, in the 85+ group died 948 women and 503 men, total 1451. Confirmed cases in the same group were 7135, of which 1611 men and 5524 women.

Covid situation in large countries:
-- USA: record number infected and deaths yesterday; 5 million Americans vaccinated (predicted 10 million by today);
-- Germany: despite lockdown numbers rising, infected around 26 thousand daily (compared to Slovenia it's like we would record 600 daily). Jan 4 reported 265 thousand vaccinated. School opening planned for end of January;
-- UK: record number infected last day, number of deaths increasing. 1.3 million people should have gotten first dose of vaccine by yesterday. Schools remain closed (in schools can stay only pupils of certain parents who fall under "key workers" category). Planned school opening: 1 February.

Chinese though are not an example First hid for 1 month that virus transmits between people at all... AUS and NZ maybe overdo, as they do total lockdown immediately when they detect 10 cases... For them it's easier to do that. NZ closes that airport in Auckland and 2 ports and the matter is solved. With us, when we closed borders in spring, Italians still came refueling to Slovenia

And again they closed the ski resorts. I don't get why. Can someone explain why churches are open where the group of people supposed to be most protected in this epidemic go most frequently, but ski resorts where you move around and are in fresh air all day are closed???
I won't even talk about the ineffectiveness of rapid antigen tests. Our esteemed government bought a cat in a bag again. Example from one school regarding rapid tests: rapid tests showed all teachers positive, PCR repeated tests only 4. And then they wonder where so many positives come from. Of course the number rises because the rapid tests are unreliable and false positive, which is proven (if anyone's interested, just google it, necenzurirano.si has a nice article on it). The burlesque continues

Regarding ski resorts I've heard unofficial rumors that Janša is a bit messing with his namesake. By the way, he allegedly had his name changed so left-wing media could write articles about how 'Janša owns' Krvavec and such, without warning readers it's not the same Janša.
To me, more illogical than with the church is the comparison with gyms, there you're out of breath and in a closed space.
Sure, maybe the government screwed up the HAGT tests purchase. By the way, the contract was signed by the one who already blew away i.e. Gantar, if by chance another revision, though unlikely now as it can't topple the government anymore.
HAGT are generally OK, though less reliable than PCR, as effective as a rapid test can be, otherwise we'd test only with HAGT. I also don't think it's right to test everyone with them, better for practical purposes: border crossing, airports, entry to bars, events (when allowed of course),...
Because of this stats comparisons with pre-holidays are messed up now and less clear how much infection rise is due to 'boozing' (sorry borrowing the term) during holidays and due to general HAGT testing introduction.
Necenzurirano.si, I wouldn't call reliable. On the level of Nova or even 24ur.

Ok, yes, the gyms thing is illogical too. I agree.
Regarding ineffectiveness of rapid tests all our media reported, both online and TV, just highlighted one because usually someone here jumps in and wants proof. And it doesn't seem badly written to me. Articles on the topic are found elsewhere too (even foreign media), just google a bit

aleš k Yeah, if you're a man aged 40 and get covid you have 0.07% chance to die. Then you can say virus is scam. But if you're man 85+ and catch covid you have 31% chance it'll get you. For people from that group virus is a bit less scam right?
