Hiked along the Celje Hiking Trail from the starting point Celje and during the activity ascended 6 peaks - Grajski hrib (407 m), Osenica (453 m), Srebotnik (700 m), Tolsti vrh (834 m), Grmada (718 m), Vipota (532 m). The trail allowed an excellent view into Celje's hinterland. The route has quite a few elevations and peaks - especially Srebotnik - that are varied and require careful steps. The most beautiful is definitely Srebotnik, Tolsti vrh is the highest, Grmada somewhat more spiritual with a cross and bell, Vipota at the end also pleasant and a less visited peak. Weather sunny, paths mostly dry, on Tolsti vrh still some snow patches and some wind that pleasantly cooled me. Trail decently marked but since I soloed today I also ,,got lost a bit,,. More eyes ,,see more,,. Trail description - Source: PD Grmada Celje This is a hiking trail with the most I presume urban-city naming, because there is no Ljubljana or Maribor hiking trail. You practically ,,bag all elevations,, in the first 13 kilometers and therefore the trail is quite dynamic and up to and including Grmada it was necessary to ,,step properly,, then more ,,enjoyment,,. Total 21 kilometers and 1375 elevation meters. Peaks are, according to what was seen and logbook entries, very visited, while connecting paths between them less. Pleasant and maybe repeat sometime - say in winter conditions... GPS trail: Celje Hiking Trail, 21.04.2013 Since the bridge over Voglajna directly before the outflow into Savinja is currently under renovation the trail is a bit longer. One can start practically in front of the railway station. On descent from Vipota also some fallen trees - especially beeches quite blocking the path on the steeper part. No pics today. Since there are quite a few Celje folks on the forum I presume active, maybe their view of Celje Hiking Trail. Regards Bruno/bruny
