Interesting mushroom photos! The hut at Preval is a planšarija, so it's closed of course, usually all planšarije close around mid-September anyway.

The mountain station at Dobrča seems private, since according to the general mountaineering rules you can eat food and drink brought with you in the hut, without being kicked out for that..... but at Dobrča the tenant throws you out. Thanks.

They throw you out elsewhere too, e.g. at Slivnica, or in Domžale hut at Velika planina. Many keepers just appropriate the huts and forget that most huts and mountain stations were built in shock labor and with volunteer work. My grandpa helped voluntarily at several huts in his free time, now even his own sandwich he can't eat warm. Arrogance is just the Slovenian national sport. lp. Vanja

Which path is used for winter ascents to Dobrča. I mean which is quickest and best trodden in snow.

The most trodden is definitely the path leading to Vaška and then past the hang-gliding take-off to the summit. But if there's a lot of snow, especially for less skilled hikers, the path along the macadam road to Bistriška planina and onwards to Lešanska planina and to the summit is much more suitable. It's a bit longer, but safer with large snow amounts.

Well, it's not quite like that. The most trodden path is from Hibja past the hut and then to the top. You can believe it because I've been walking there for years already.

Where is the starting point for the route from Hibja past the hut? It interests me, because I'm not from there, but still like going to Dobrča in winter.

A veper is a wild pig, which really isn't safe to meet. They say it's more dangerous than a bear.

That's right, boars are wild pigs. They were about a meter long and well-fed. We met at a distance of 50 meters. I don't know what would have happened if they noticed me .

Lad, remember this. Every wild animal attacks only when threatened. Same with wild boar, but dangerous if it has piglets around. Regards Franc

Would you Franc feel threatened if I walked up and down your yard? And I'm not the postman!

You have to live with nature, then you'll know wild animals too. Regards Franc

I've walked through tons of forests and never felt fear of wild animals - only a few years ago at Smrekovec, when there was a bear at the farm and killed some sheep. The next day I was mushrooming there - I agree that an animal with young reacts unpredictably if we surprise it. Stories of wild boar attacking humans - were always connected to a bad shot and wounded animal and subsequent attack on the enemy who attacked. I've seen lots of plowed fields and meadows, but haven't had bad experiences with this animal in my life so far and don't know of a case of a boar attacking a human (I don't ignore the fact that it can't happen) Franc is right too! Regards Geppo

I see that Geppo is a good connoisseur of nature, so I'm pleasantly surprised that he confirmed my modest experiences in nature. Such people should write on the forum. Regards, Franc

Today I was on Dobrča. I had great weather, it was very warm, wonderful view. The path is completely dry, only near the top it's icy and it's highly recommended to have crampons with you.

Today I headed towards Dobrča from Bistriška planina. The path is dry at first, a few hundred meters higher it's already snowy. Towards Lešanska planina it's well trodden, track made to the top of Dobrča. On the planina I noticed quite a few boar tracks, about which there was debate on the forum. Since I went in the morning, the path was a bit frozen, so I recommend small crampons. I suggest visiting Šentanski vrh, which is just a few minutes from the top of Dobrča and from where there's a fantastic panorama of the surrounding mountains. I further compacted the track from my predecessor. LP Andrej

Greetings. I'm interested in the current conditions on Dobrča, is there still a lot of snow in the summit area? Thanks

LP Klavdipo! Today I was on Storžič and looked at Dobrča below me. Dobrča is dry, so you go up without problems. LP Andrej
