The forest road to Bistriška planina is in relatively good condition, some cars were parked higher along the road, but the road from Breška planina onwards is worse and I recommend parking earlier. A new team works in the hut on Dobrča, first impressions are good. With clear air after the last few windy days, the views today were very nice.

In the morning it looked rather bad, especially from the valley (snowing and fog). But when I got to Brezje near Tržič everything became much clearer. Actually conditions were ideal: visibility was very good and no frost. Only on the top there was icy wind. Good to have crampons, especially for the way back. Overnight a few cm of snow fell, it covered the frozen snow or ice on the path. I wish everyone safe steps and luck.

We've been planning a visit to Dobrča for a long time and yesterday the weather was fantastic, but also strenuous, as under the new snow it was icy and very slippery, at least the snow isn't so hard for that last slope, on which I slid several times myself.

Hello, yesterday I was on Dobrča from Brezje near Tržič. Went straight "direct" to the top. Snow starts quite soon after entering the forest and you have to be careful, because the ground under the snow is icy. Track to the top is made. Weather was ok, a bit windy in places and later it started to drizzle. Despite everything, the day was suitable for visiting lower hills

Hello! Today I did the ascent to Dobrča from Brezje via Lešanska planina. The beginning of the path is quite icy so I recommend crampons. On top there was quite strong wind so I didn't stay long. I would also praise the hut staff for friendliness and really large portions of food.

I looked out the window and saw snow around 1100-1200m. (Approximately at the paragliders' take-off site). Also on Saturday towards Roblek from Draga it started at that altitude. Expect hard-packed ground. Especially in shady areas it can be icy in the morning hours.

I was on Dobrča on Saturday. Snow starts at the paragliders' take-off. The path to the top is packed, sometimes a bit slippery, especially on the way back. At the top there is at least 1.5 meters of snow.

Gita, I went from Brezje near Tržič via the direct path. It was definitely possible to Bistriška planina by car a week ago, as I met mountain bikers.

Gita, here's fresh info. Road to Bistriška planina passable, except upper part snowy. Maybe leave car a bit lower, walk less than 10 min. Enjoy

Yesterday 23.3.09 via Hibje to Šentanski vrh:
Parked at bend where marked path from Slatna and Begunje crosses forest road.
Previously on Dobrča only once and just at hut. Hadn't repeated till yesterday due to belief of poor views. This time going bit further to summit and Šentanski v., pleasantly surprised by great views all around.
Conditions: snow above ca 1200m (crampons), hut closed weekdays, total peace - met no one except some wildlife. Careful on Šentanski vrh edge!
Weather nicely warm.
No regrets. Recommend nice spring hike!

we also enjoyed Dobrča "solitude" yesterday, though wouldn't mind meeting your good-natured furry one
Also I was first time above hut - summit, which honestly slightly disappointed, but then Šentanski vrh surprised and fixed impression - it's a "must" for all Dobrča visitors.
