Matevž, photos are so wonderful they already radiate a touch of fairy-tale or supernatural. Comments on photos are just the icing on the cake. Thanks!

Nice, nice! Memory of Tre Cime, 'distant' 2008 and last year's trip (Nuvolau, Averau, Lagazuoi,...)

Matevž, beautiful. Especially the 1st photo - it's truly ethereal. Which place (mountain, lake) did you capture?

That's right; this is a view from the southeast across Passo Giau. I don't remember those puddles, probably on the pastures behind the chapel?

Just a good month ago this mountain was La Gusella.

I've only looked at Italian schools from the outside and I don't know their grammar well, but I can still read from the map. The first peak in the ridge - height 2595m, north of Passo Giau is called Ra Gusella (tabacco) and the via ferrata (which we climbed towards the summit of Nuvolau) is also called that... But there is a peak as you call it in the Grappa massif. Anyway, it's still beautiful there, as Ivan said; Every day there is the most beautiful day.

I think Ra is in the Ladin dialect of Ampezzo.

Hi, this year with my girlfriend we're heading to the Dolomites to climb, cycle, hike etc. Interested when is the best time to visit? Wouldn't go in August, assume it's crowded. Wonder if in June some ferratas are already dry (Tofana, Piz Boe?).

I've been going to the Dolomites for 5 years straight in August, even though there are lots of people, there are so many climbing options in the walls that people get dispersed. On ferratas it's a bit more crowded. Via Lipella on Tofana di Rozes can still be in ice/snow in June

How much in advance is camp reservation needed in summer? Recommend any camp - looked at Camp Rocchetta?

No reservation needed, even in peak season there's still huge space in the camp. Rocchetta is small and also quite full. I most recommend camp Dolomiti, it's very spacious and lots of shade available, has also a small pool. Camps Rocchetta, Cortina and Dolimiti are located in the same place, approx. 20-30min walk to the town.
