plavžar is right... but that wasn't the question. when snow and ice melt, everything (in principle) flows into Tamar

Is it Črna voda, as it says on the map?

črne vode is the name of the waterfalls area in Tamar, yes. Mecca of Slovenian ice climbing. The candle in question is located well over two jurja away...

So it's under the summit of Jalovec (Ozebnik)

Kristalna sveča is formed on the SE wall of the mountain, which has the Roof and the feeling when climbing the snow-covered couloir is eerie as it feels like climbing between two huge black skyscrapers. However the eerie feeling ends when you peek to the Primorska side...

You know I don't know Ozebnik, but I was on Jalovec via Kotovo sedlo and also past the well-known Franceljn (hope I didn't mistake the name) I pass on the riddle, because I have no material.

yeah well if you haven't (yet) been there in winter then you really didn't go through Ozebnik. In winter that's (in principle) the only possible route... You guessed right yeah, the candle is located on the right side a few meters before the exit from the couloir. I have the material, but it's strange to me that only the two of us are participating?! Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Others drink mulled wine to warm up after a full day of hiking and descents into the valleys.

@geolog79 I just wish you good luck and hats off to such "heroes" who reach Vrh Jalovca in winter.

This surely isn't for us who love fatter peaks more. Are the Julian Alps across the border?

| tisa5. 12. 2010 18:59:59 |
Why across the border, maybe it's on our side
| otiv5. 12. 2010 19:01:45 |
Yeah there it's pointier. That's why I asked.
| otiv5. 12. 2010 19:02:59 |
Well, we're in our own country then.

But across the border it's pointier? Even with us there are mountains that are ridiculously pointed...
