We were on Golica this Sunday 17.2.2008. Some snow on top... Stamp pad doesn't work
Otherwise the path is nice, snow very nice for walking!

"Stamp pad" is good to have with you, since stamps on summits are often dry.

I got pretty close on a ski tour on Thursday (13.3) - Dovška Baba. Judging by Dovška Baba and the area, conditions in western Karavanke are like this - summit, south-facing slopes pretty windblown, little snow but very hard. Since it warmed up in the meantime, probably quite different now.

Was on Golica the day before yesterday. Snow on the south side no more than a few patches, not in the way. For daffodils need to wait a bit longer, since except gardens on Planina pod Golico none visible yet.

Golica was yesterday really magical and beautiful, there was a crowd on the parking lot, on the path, at the hut...
But after more demanding not
Daffodils a lot, above the village of course trampled.
Criticism to tourist farm at Fenc. From 12.30 they had three so-called musicians, who too loud, way too loud sang all afternoon only and solely Croatian songs.
Completely inappropriate, and because of volume and because of theme.

I agree with you Bali, I too was yesterday on Golica and it was really pleasant, although in my opinion somewhat too many visitors, but that's not such a thing.
But JUGO music at Fenc bothered me too. It would be proper to have at least domestic music.

I recommend a visit to Golica these days - daffodils blooming both below (Planina pod Golico) and above (around the hut on Golica), lots of other flowers too. Yesterday we experienced even live music of a folk-entertainment ensemble, the crowd was really big, maybe better to go during the week, not on the weekend.

How is the marked path from Planina pod Golico to the Rožca saddle and over the Jekljevo saddle to the top of Golica maintained??

On this path we hiked on Sunday, 18.05.2008, in rainy weather; the path is well trodden and visible, but in many places some more-than-needed markings are missing. From the Jekljevo saddle to the top of Golica we didn't go due to bad weather, but crossed the alpine pasture to Dom na Golici.

For narcissuses you're this year too late.
They bloom usually around May depending on weather

Saturday ascent on Golica was a real fairy tale, as the weather was more than excellent. From Planina pod Golico up the winter path all to the top, then straight along the ridge all to Rošca and over Jeseniška planina back to Planina pod Golico. Here a bit worse or not marked at all, but it went. Super tour, takes around 5-6h.

We had a top trip on Sunday morning, when we as the third group were climbing towards the hut on the winter path. The first one went ahead with snowshoes, next were a gentleman and lady who broke the trail, we additionally packed it down (at the top sinking to the waist and deeper). At Betel about 50 cm of snow, towards the top well over a meter.... well let the pics tell more about the weather and fun

Yesterday evening we went up with buddy on winter path, with touring skis, all well trodden, no panic, afternoon clouded over and snowed... down we skied left of the hut in the gully and it was ok too, but one part snow blown away, still went over with edges!
