Goličica 2101 m

... Goličica...
Goličica is a nice two-thousander, wonderful views, but the approach in this Trenta's steepness is quite demanding...nasmeh

Hello, does anyone know any of the paths to Goličica from Trenta or from Zadnjica, so the southern approach? According to some maps there should be two or three hunting paths there.

@wsbase, you have a great Majda's link above the question.

Yes, but that approach starts on the Vršič road. I'm interested if anyone knows an access that starts at the 1st bend in Trenta?

In Trenta it's the 50th bend zavijanje z očmi, there are variants, even from the path to Kriške pode. But you'll have to find it yourself mežikanje.

Goličica is overgrown, no path...

It's not that overgrown, though; you just need to look a bit for better passages or walk a bit more of the path if you search a little.zavijanje z očmi

One writes that there are variants, the other that there is no path... So there must be something in between.mežikanje

And they are and they aren't. Only Zlodej knows if they are or not. Because sometimes they are here, sometimes there, the little paths that is.cool
Last year I visited it again and it took my breath away in every way.velik nasmeh

#wsbase Best to first go via the normal route from the forester's hut and in between scout the terrain a bit where the other variants are.. but the state of paths on the ground is surely different from what that map photo you posted shows... Especially on that passage between Goličica and Germlajt I wouldn't rely. (I read that hunters used it sometimes, but probably you need to have done the high Trentarian school - if it's different, I'd appreciate info)

Kugy was the last to walk these paths...
...and it's been a long time since then...

Was Kugy at Kanceljni?
Here walk those who don't publish. I know a few of them...

Anyway, here's one report from one of these paths.

Yes, it's been quite a few years since MM ran out of interesting summits where we met a couple of times, then they switched to bikes. On the shelf boasts a quite pot-bellied binder of diligent descriptions of their mountain conquests from December 2001 onwards.

Yes and what a beautiful path there is to Goličica. We start at Kugy's monument. We follow the well-trodden path left upwards, cross the deep Mlinarica gorge and after about half an hour of not too steep ascent we reach the hunting hut, which we spot on a larger clearing below us. There we go along the wall to the left another 150m and at the first junction of the poorer path left and steeply up. From here we follow the faint (once excellent path) steeply up. There are no junctions here and we can't miss the path anymore (at one point it's scree-covered, but can be crossed without problems). We join the well-trodden path that comes from the forester's house on a larger flattening (on the opposite side are ruins of some hut). Here right and to the summit of Goličica leads one single well-visible path. But we have to be careful on the way back not to miss the junction and also on the descent towards the hunting hut, where in the middle of the trail there is a quite well-trodden junction to the left.

@B2, that's just a variant of the path from the forester's house. I think here it's about paths on the other side of the ridge.
You've "teased" me so much with this debate that I'll surely visit the other side of the ridge this year.nasmeh

Tone, M&M really did a great job describing practically all pathless terrains of our mountains so diligently and objectively. Definitely the most reliable descriptions.

Today from the old road worker's hut along a nicely traceable little path to the summit of Goličica. Most of the way cairns help. At the summit views so that you'd stay there forever.

On Saturday my wife and I were on this beauty above Trenta. For my wife, not used to such paths, it was a real feat. Despite the effort she was very excited about the tour. We started at the road worker's hut, where we got the last parking spot.nasmeh Weather served us the whole way, only on the return it was very hot. Exposed ledges in the lower part, which worried me a bit, we overcame without trouble. The least pleasant part of the path for my wife was the upper section through the scrub, which has almost closed the path in places.nasmeh But with height increasingly fairy-tale views pushed it into oblivion. At the summit excitement that we made it and long lounging before descent. We felt like strawberries on top of the cake.velik nasmeh On descent we met Mramor with wife Neža heading to Debelo peč. After nice chatting we picked some chanterelles a bit lower and quite tired sat on Mlinarice beach. When I just wanted to swim, of course without swimsuit, then from behind the bush again Mramor...velik nasmeh
