Today Tadej and I visited Oljka mountain or Križna gora. In between also to Vinski vrh or Vimperk. Started right from Polzela center and via village Podvin pri Polzeli to nearby Vimperk peak.. Then little descent to Dobrič village. Then through snowy forest to Oljka mountain. Hut open. Down to Polzela on other path. Also passes by birthplace of Neža Maurer.

Then a little downhill - slightly icy it was.

Then along such a cross-marked path on trees to Mount Oljka.

Yesterday with family from the Vedet homestead over Brezovec to the summit and back past Rogeljska. The trail is just right for our five-year-old, a bit muddy in some places, otherwise nicely marked. At the starting point there is an arranged parking for cca. 6 cars.
It was a nice day bathed in sunshine.

Now need to make up for lost time and strengthen flabby muscles.
After lunch at G. O. Park where I've never parked before. Find the marked trail and in one hour at the top. Don't stop and turn onto unmarked to another municipality - Šmartno ob Paki. Descend along ridge and hit perpendicularly a path hidden in leaves. First think it's game trail and soon realize it's hunter's path. Nicely followable and built as hunters like. At approx. 600m asl nicely crosses slopes of G.O. which steeply drop to Rečica/Podvin. Somewhat surprised where I meet marked again. Interesting variant!!
On descent to parked car stop at acquaintance's farm brewing pear brandy. At stop realize smell/taste is right again!! cool

Oljka Mountain - a bit differently
Avoid muddy trails and go completely my own way. Let photos tell where I moved, if anyone can figure it out? cool

Nice sunny morning. At home in the courtyard in the morning -5°C. To Oljka Mountain via pathless terrain above Podgora quarry. For tea to the Hut on Oljka Mountain. On the way, visit to Bbrina. Return to the starting point in strong W wind +11°C. Lp

Finally, Oljka Mountain's turn. With guide Uroš and nice company from Ptuj. We started in Šempeter, continued to Polzela, past Vimperk, Dobrič village... completely new areas for me, today in beautiful sunny weather. Ptuj people have been visiting Oljka Mountain for 35 years, tradition also boiled eggs. Here are the westernmost Styrian vine plantations. Nice places and great views from Krvavica, Čemšenik plateau, Dobrovlje, Rogatec to KSA with Ojstrica, Uršlja gora, Golte, Kope, Andraž above Polzela. Now we can remember Oljka Mountain with the characteristic church of St. Cross. We descended to Šmartno ob Paki, caught the train. We walked 16 km, 600 m elevation gain... in pleasant company, looking forward to new meetings.

Didn't he take you past the viewpoint 5 min below the hut at G.O.?? Best view here to Šmartno ob Paki/Rečica/Letuš/Paško vas/Gorenje and towards KSA.

Today to Oljka Mountain. Weather didn't promise much, but the day was great anyway. Start from Podvin, up the lower path, back the upper one. Most of the time under raincoat, no views as expected. Oljka is crisscrossed with many trails, all well marked. Towards the top quite windy. In the alpine hut excellent and tasty service. Got keys to the church and viewed inside upper and lower church. For views we'll return another time. nasmeh

After five years back to Gora Oljka with Četrkovci-hiking group of retirees PD Škofja Loka. The hike lasted up about two and a half hours. We even arranged for opening the church and opening the crypt under the church-very interesting. In the hut we even ordered hot meal-very tasty-I recommend. Down we went by shorter second path.
