Depends where you're from. In Ljubljana I recommend Taca boot repair. He will tell you what the best option is. He can also replace both soles and boots will be like new. Check pics on Facebook and you'll see he works miracles. Regards

Scarpa Zodiac Tech GTX or La Sportiva Trango series. You won't go wrong with these...

All listed are 150-200eur+ If I were looking in that range I'd take Salewa Ultra Flex Mid GTX I'm looking for around 80-100eur. Thanks for the tips.

I'd also like boots for 80€ that are as great as TX4. Alpina, intersport, hervis.. It seems to me that you yourself don't know exactly what you want

Of course I don't know what I want, that's why I'm asking on the forum, if I knew I wouldn't ask. I just know I want high and light hiking boots. I already have low ones, but I don't dare go to high mountains with them.

Kleemen, the difference between low and high mountains isn't what requires different footwear. The boots you linked are probably fine if you drive to a 2000 m pass and head to a grassy summit on a soft path, even if it's 2500 m high. But if you're hiking lower hills and scrambling on demanding terrain and tours are long, no one should recommend such boots with poor support. Buy boots based on the difficulty of your planned tours. I hike high mountains (except winter) and now municipal hills/lowlands in low boots. As I was always happy with Zen ones, I'm quite dissatisfied with Mescalito boots because they stretch and your foot starts dancing in them.

I think Alpina Tibet V are more than OK for a beginner, if they fit the foot of course. Current price as I see is 140EUR. It's worth saving on other gear items, not on boots.

Thanks everyone for advice. I contacted this guy from Srna store, maybe he has something useful at a good price. I had Alpina Tibet 2-3 years ago and never again. Huge, robust and especially very heavy boots, and Vibram sole (at least on Tibet) was a disaster. Now I have Adidas Continental sole and incredible grip, never Vibram or Alpina again. Plus they are very heavy, both boots surely around 2kg, if not more.

nice greetings to all My wife and I are buying mid-high or high hiking boots, now we have low Hofer variant,,but we feel every root, rock when you step on it. Wife has problem with sole pains so it hurts her on uneven terrain. She would hike up to 2000m,,so almost never into rocky areas. She wants interior with memory foam (what does that even mean) but as I looked only Mammut brand in Iglu has such interior,,,is it possible there's another term for such interior,,so I know to look at other brands. We also like La Sportiva STREAM GTX SURROUND. What are experiences with them? Thanks for answers,,I poured a bunch of questions,,because I want to buy good footwear. https://www.iglusport.si/stream-gtx-surround-w-s https://www.iglusport.si/stream-gtx-surround

Hi, after five seasons need to replace hiking boots, as they are worn out. Had Alpina VX 955 67661 ( https://www.alpinashop.si/p2-30-19497/p... ), which served me ok, only sometimes felt like sole slipping - poorer grip on downhill walking. Few minor slips, no fall thank god. So I'd go one step higher in rank, especially since more high mountains. Need robust, durable, waterproof high boot. As light as possible of course Narrowed to models below, can't decide which. Tested all three in shops, all ok. Each seller praises his own horse... Anyone have experience with any? Pros, cons? To make decision easier. Thanks for help! Alpina: https://www.alpinashop.si/p2-28-414/poh... La Sportiva: https://www.iglusport.si/trango-trk-leather-gtx Scarpa: https://www.kibuba.com/obutev/visoki-pohodniski/moski-c1763/visoki-pohodniski-cevlji-scarpa-marmolada-trek-od-hd

All listed boots are solid, probably Alpina is the most waterproof. But the foot will tell its own... If possible, test all models in one "round".

Thanks for the help...I've decided on La Sportiva Trango TRK Leather GTX. Let's see if they last five seasons like the Alpines

Hi! I'm buying women's high hiking boots. Due to foot size I'm usually "limited" with purchases (usually have hiking boots in size 42). Found these, wondering if anyone has them or what your opinion is about them https://www.iglusport.si/tx-5-gtx-w-s Let me add, I'm not an active hiker, but occasionally we go to higher mountains where I need a good boot. Thanks
