Also at ours already second day heavily snowing, nice to look out, plenty of time for visiting elevations later, for now just enjoying the view of your beautiful photos in this section. By the way - not superfluous at all to tell and show how the surroundings of our homes look in such special days, quite the opposite, I like it.

Just back from Kanin (yesterday around half meter new snow on about 170 base), today such dismal weather, snowing, wind, fog, didn't make even one pic. Hope no one registers again to scold me cuz no pics.
Otherwise winter beautiful wherever, city, hills or mountains (Ljubljana 1982 whole winter no snow then one night almost half meter and that day passed driving test, also nice memory snowy Ljubljana). Pity raining in Bovec now.

If you want to really experience winter come to Notranjska, where frost and winter makes young (snow 75 and up). If we survive you rest will too. Winter is for snow falling, not roses blooming. lp

Well since Igor no pics from Kanin I'll attach some from Thursday which was also nicest day of week. Now with Italy connection closer for us Styrians too cuz can drive straight to Sella Nevea before needed over Predel cuz Vršič winter not passable. As for ski area now with connection really super.

In Ljubljana it has started to snow very heavily at the current -0.8°C. Since midnight already over 15 cm of snow has fallen. Air pressure is well below 1000 mb, meteorologists warn that precipitation will intensify toward evening. On the coast apparently already problems with rising water.

The road cleared at 8am shows no tidiness

Of course it's interesting to chat about happenings in the valley too, where we spend most of our lives.
But I have another suggestion......
Here we gather people for whom mountains mean a lot and as I see there are quite a few who hike alone. What if we opened a section where all those who want or offer company on hikes would post.

Together to the mountains - the topic is open, but not in the form intended, as it's full of chit-chat. The topic should only have messages on Seeking company or offering company for the mountains. Admin should simply delete other posts.
e.g.: tomorrow 31.1.2010 I'm going to Komna, anyone coming with me plus contact or vice versa tomorrow I want to go to Komna, anyone joining??, then people arrange transport, fitness, gear, bla bla bla among themselves......
And also: Together to the mountains section should be visible like Current conditions, etc........

Probably possible, because I heard from neighbor who has a weekend house on Jezersko, that only a few cm of snow fell there. Since after the first heavy afternoon snowfall, it's snowing again now, tomorrow first need to clear around the huts, later we can arrange the tour online. I usually start at Osolnik in Ločnica valley, where the forest path branches right uphill (about five km from Sora). We'll see what the night brings. And bring snowshoes and gaiters!

In Pržanju near Ljubljana there's already so much snow we don't know where to throw it?. Now here -2°C, in Ljubljana-center -1°C. According to 14-day forecast, next week another snow shipment awaits us, then mid-February. Temperatures all below zero!. Going to shovel, bye! velik nasmeh
