You know the Slovene proverb about fovšija (envy). Well, in Loška dolina we have enough old snow, new has fallen cca 15cm. So the snow situation has reversed.

Yes, that's right. It's winter after all. I say finally a real winter after 10 years, at least snow and temperatures wise. Winter for me is at least 50cm total in winter. Yeah otherwise this weekend no hills, no sledding on Vogar.

Yes this winter is a real one. Shovels constantly in hands that's something for us. 500m a.s.l. and 50cm snow that's a good winter! May it last a bit longer! Hills to visit plenty above 1100m like Mrzlica or Kum.

After clearing snow from streets huge snow piles already formed in Ljubljana. Meteorologists predict more precipitation, but in lowlands first little snow, then lots of rain then cooling again and snow to lowlands. In mountains of course constant snowing in February. A winter like this long time no! Attaching some pics from home. Lp

Yes, those martyrs are really messing it up today, as the old saying from centennial practice says, if it freezes on the day of the 40 Martyrs, it predicts 40 more cold nights. I hope it's not so, and that I haven't ruined anyone's day. Spring comes after every winter. LP

Important that some go today to the hills jao jao.. Again 2 avalanche burials, for one fatal. Otherwise than suicide can't understand the actions, weather forecasters already warned on extreme conditions ages ago.

No details yet, but probably (at least judging by this year's trend) they were again inadequately equipped for such conditions. At least I can't explain the long search otherwise. If the girl had had an airbag, they would probably have found her much faster, probably even alive... Do people really value themselves so little that they're reluctant to spend 300€ on an airbag? It's not a small amount of money, but it's about life? People, take better care of yourselves. Equip yourselves properly for such conditions if you insist on going to the mountains in the snow!!!! And not just strap an airbag around your body and think you're safe now. GRS organizes free mountain movement courses every year, but compared to the number of people I meet in the mountains in winter, the participation is disproportionately low... And then we read about avalanches and victims Matej

I might come across as rude, but in such conditions they had no business being in the mountains... otherwise I deeply sympathize with the family and relatives, but I'm also extremely disappointed with people's madness and audacity when they rush into such weather...
