On Saturday 29.9. at 20.00 I set off with three more colleagues on the trail from Črna na Koroškem. For those who might not know the trail, let me describe it: monument in the center of Črna - Žerjav - Church on Uršlja gora - hut on Sleme - hut on Smrekovcu - hut on Loki pod Raduho - summit of Raduha - Bukovnikovo sedlo - summit of Olševe - Kumer farm in Koprivna - summit of Pece - monument in the center of Črna. Arrival in Črna at 19.18. The point is that you sign up for the 24 club if you complete the trail in less than 24 hours.

Good day End of May we plan to try k24 (club 24 hours - monument in the center of Črna - Žerjav - Church on Uršlja gora - hut on Slemen - hut on Smrekovec - hut on Loka below Raduha - Raduha summit - Bukovnikovo sedlo - Olševa summit - Kumer farm in Koprivna - Pece summit - monument in the center of Črna). Do you think the conditions will allow it or is it still too early (due to snow)? P.s. I hope I chose the right forum Regards

Uh, from Raduha there might be a problem... Maybe via Durce a bit less. Not 100%. For the other parts I think they shouldn't be problematic. We plan to try late summer, we've reached some compromise between those for the longest day, but heat and storms are still not negligible.

If you succeed, please report how it went... some advice would help us, as this year we're trying k24 for the first time.

I think that given the current conditions it will probably still be a bit too early in May. Even if there is no more snow, because the ground and rocks are not yet dry or firm. The longest day is at the end of June (not late summer) and the weather should not be too unstable then, so that term is also recommended by other experienced people on forums (searching for K24 throws up quite a few links in the browser). In any case, this thing is not to be taken too simply...

Hello, I'm interested if anyone knows roughly how the trail length is divided percentage-wise regarding ascents, descents and flat sections of the trail approx.?)Lp

K-24 5300m elevation and 87 km, the watch showed even a bit more than 90 km. Even when more of us went together on the same trail, we didn't measure the same km. Anyway, I don't worry about the watch and km. I walk my pace and it works out without running.

It must be interesting to tackle all these Koroška peaks in 24 hours. Night hiking attracted me quite a bit in my youth. Especially on approaches on Friday evenings. But I don't see the point in stressing with 5300 elevation at once. Definitely not good for the human body. Unless you're really top fit and young.

There are no real flat sections, because even the gentler ones (e.g. between Pece and Olševa, Smrekovec, Sleme etc.) are undulating. The only real flat section is a short section between Črna and Pece and Uršlja and Črna, both, if I remember correctly, asphalt and quite tedious. But you have elevation profiles of the trail published on the net and you can judge the percentages yourself, because I doubt anyone calculated it. I'm almost sure there's a profile on Bojan Ambrožič's blog, probably elsewhere too. Try to get some info on the running forum, if someone there maybe dealt with it.

From Križan to somewhere near the hut on Loki there's a pretty long flat section, otherwise it includes quite a few shorter ascents and descents, but if we start in Črna and first tackle Uršlja after the initial major ascent we have quite a few flat hours before we, already slightly tired, take on Raduha, Olševa and Peca.

Behind me is the K-24 trail walked 53 times. In all months of the year (12) Two years ago I walked it twice (45 h 44 min. I think with cleaning and all scouting trips. Treading the trail in winter time. I can say that I spent two years of my life (enjoying) on this loop through the beautiful Carinthian mountains, home to me. Best. J.
