19.03.08 At half past six I'm thrown out of bed, the view through the window dazzles! Almost panicking I throw together basic gear, later while walking I barely feel any weight on my back. Grintovci with Kopišče shine in beautiful winter scenery, I'm totally beside myself! From the Hut in Bistrica I rush uphill. Snow-laden branches conjure a fairy-tale world of childlike simple feelings, where thought is no burden at all... Path not yet trodden, snow to ankles up to V Klin, no gaiters. Below hunting hut depth increases. From there to Dedec's head I wade virgin dry snow, mostly shamelessly slippery (no base), last meters sink to knees. To the summit thankfully with bush help... Heavens! View stuns and drifts detachedly... Tour has despite all a 'beauty' flaw. Unfortunately in a hurry (afternoon job). After enjoying full garland of beauties, on boots I slide to valley. Snow pours during descent, snows from the blue...

Very nicely said - expand it a bit more and it will be for Planinski vestnik. The pictures are great too, I'll see it live at the first opportunity.

Wonderful! That's right, go to the mountains even before work: Praiseworthy, nicely written, the pics are very tempting too.

Nice regards
Already late afternoon at 17h, my colleague and I dashed to Kamniški dedec, we were quick because the weather kept changing. Otherwise almost no wind, wonderful view - can be good even on cloudy days. For soul relaxation. No snow, just the path is very little trodden. Good company and rested soul, that's it. lp
In addition, I was quickly on Kamniški vrh in the morning.

Can you tell me more about Kamniški dedec (mountain characteristics, approach, is the path suitable for ordinary hikers or only for alpinists etc.). I searched unsuccessfully on Hribi.net for this mountain, if I missed it, sorry. Nice regards!

LP At least for me, it has an extremely nice view of the neighboring peaks, which are like on the palm of your hand (Brana, Planjava, and all from Kamniški vrh to Štruca, Kamniško sedlo, Lučki dedec.....to Velika planina. The approach is not demanding, just need to find the path a bit, go towards Kamniško sedlo, at the fork turn towards Srebrno sedlo, after a few minutes right across the stream, then you see the path (yesterday there was still snow over the water there). Then you reach a hut with a beautiful view. Behind the hut up a steep slope, on the forepeak to the east abyss, last meters a bit to climb and you're at the top. The summit has little space and is steep on all sides. Suitable for everyone except the slightly more dizzy. LP

I checked them myself. Useless. Snow totally unconsolidated, pure powder, if you step off the crampons the leg goes straight through to rocks and grass.

Snow starts above hunting hut, right around 1200m. Kamniški vrh is bare.
