If you're going to Kočna, it doesn't make sense to go via Umik Žrela path, as that would be an unnecessary detour.

Today went to both Kočnas, at least to me the path wasn't anything special but you have to watch your step because there's really a lot of scree. All together from Ravenska Kočna and back took 7h.

Hello, interested if anyone has fresher info on conditions in this area? Especially since more winter conditions? I plan to do ascent on Jezersko Kočna via Kremžarjeva path.
Also interested if the road is still open to the parking in Ravenska Kočna or have they closed it for winter? Thanks and best.

Some pics from Kočna ridges. Sunny slopes are dry, in the gullies quite some snow and ice,..where you have to be careful. Whisper of silence, no wind. Haven't met chamois yet, only one 'real' mountain girl who 'navigated' me from the bivouac down and was good company.
If someone misses sunglasses, found above Suhadolnik, let me know by mail.

Yesterday was marked by wild and beautiful nature, exploring the unknown world... We took on an almost forgotten hunter's path from Suhadolnik to the bivouac under Kočna, which served us with acrobatics and exploring a foreign world, full of fallen trees, nettles, ticks and wonderful sighs at the view of the surroundings. Because we spent quite a lot of time looking for the path to the bivouac, we gratefully tackled the marked and gravelly path to the first Kočna and then further to the statue of Mary on Jezerska and down via Dolška škrbina to the marked path towards the saddle but we turned into the ugly graben and down.... Despite the warning that the path to Grintovec is closed, we saw some brave ones who set off down along the path. Otherwise the marked path that we did has no special features and no problematic snow fields. Nice and strenuous! 🙂 safe step to everyone together

Yesterday from Suhadolnik (the path is already almost entirely asphalted) to Kokrsko sedlo on the old path (newly arranged and marked). From the saddle then towards Kokrska Kočna. For some time we ascend from the saddle towards Grintovec, until the path branches off to the right, we continue straight in the direction of Kočna. The path soon descends quite a bit, when we reach the plain we have a nice view of Bivak v Kočni. Continuation on the marked path, to the junction, which only marks the path towards Kokrska Kočna (left), but the variant towards Dolška Škrbina is not marked, which in my opinion is much less annoying than the path that directs us left and which comes directly to Kokrska Kočna. Tedious ascent over scree, crumbly gullies. Especially annoying is the transition from the gravelly part to a slightly nicer climbing part. Here progress is easier and faster, best to follow the markings, the path is nicely laid out but the markings are quite faded. One or two passages higher up are also annoying, caution is needed. When I looked back at the traversed path returning the same way didn't appeal to me at all. So from KK I continued towards Jezerska and to Dolška škrbina to the junction for Cojzova koča. Further the path towards Grintovec is closed. From Dolška škrbina to the flat plateau near the bivouac we reach quite quickly. Then follows quite a bit of ascent, which is not technically demanding. Then return to Cojz and Suhadolnik. I should also mention that I did a lot of stupidity and at the beginning of the climbing part towards KK left the poles, because I intended to return the same way. Because the return path wasn't appealing at all there followed another tedious ascent over scree to the poles and back. We learn from mistakes. Grateful for the new experience. Due to stupidity accumulated a good 20 km and 2550 elevation gain.

Since we brothers together completed 200 years, it was appropriate for a joint tour, and another reason was for visiting Jezerska Kočna.
The parking lots at Jezersko are nicely arranged and payable (10 euros).
For hiking, the conditions yesterday were excellent. Despite the intermediate “coffee” at Češka koča, we arrived at the top quite quickly (4h), where Marija greeted us. The path is nicely secured, except for that narrow passage, which is already quite worn.
