Today my husband and I were warmly welcomed at Kokrsko Saddle as first guests by the new manager of Cojzova hut Mrs. Vida from Dolenjska and her dog Timi. After a long time we ate really good ričet in the mountains again. It looks like and we hope things up there will now get sorted out since a really talkative and friendly lady has taken over the hut. Otherwise snow at the saddle is just a memory, a bit cloudy but really pleasant temperatures for hiking. Recommended!

Sunny and quite windy day. Snow starts at cargo cable car station. Path well trodden all way to last steep part where forest ends and everyone makes their own way. Snow sinks deep in places, holds elsewhere. All time refreshment in gusts from Kalška gora, once really refreshed me - more than spritzer. At top winter and even icier wind, Grintovec in sun and snow drifts at once will wait for next chance. Gaiters, crampons mandatory to bring with you.

I think it was time to replace the old caretakers. Namely, such a mess as we hikers were subjected to in this hut we really don't deserve. Just to mention some criticisms of the previous caretakers. Food ran out already after 3 pm, uncleanliness and unfriendliness.
To the new caretaker I wish lots of nice things at Kokrsko sedlo

Well the pic is ok, just math worse. If hubby and I hadn't puzzled over the high bill and finally asked, we'd have eaten the whole stew we didn't even order let alone eaten. And so we got back over 5 euros cuz luckily the lady had the receipt, that's quite some money for nothing.
Wondering where such high prices come from. Nothing changed for me, been to Kokra Saddle twice this year, rather not talk about toilets first visit, month later a bit better.

Mrs. Jelči, such things happen too, the lady admitted the mistake and returned the money. You know the saying: "He who works also errs." As for prices, the mountaineering club sets them, hut staff can't change them cuz they're fixed in the till. But not everything was that bad that you wouldn't visit the hut again, right?

Today 05.10.2008 quite pleasant at Kokra Saddle, morning even perfect clear on Grintavec. During day fog lingered over Kamnik plateaus. No snow to Kokra Saddle, further to Grintavec in some spots. Hut open next weekend. Manager Mrs. Vida still misses her golden retriever named TIM. Seen few days ago in Kamniška Bistrica. No collar. If anyone spots him, Mrs. Vida happy for info tel: 040 854 389

At Koncu - Cojzova hut at Kokra Saddle
Today morning first cloudy, then snowing, then fog. Winter gear stayed in backpack. Hardest was to stay dry. Very useful winter room. Regards, Medo

Couldn't resist quick hop to Kokra Saddle before work. No more snow on path, no breeze, from end of forest to minute below saddle top thick fog, on top warm sunshine

Mountain hut opening
Today Cojzova hut at Kokra Saddle opened. If you hurry you can still help unloading supplies.
Manager same as last year, dog Timi replaced by little Tara.

Although Filip on the PZS forum claims that Slovenian knows something like this, I absolutely disagree. This is simply unreadable.
I hope I'll soon find time to revisit Kokrsko (or Kokrško, depending on where you look for advice) saddle.

This year I was twice at Cojzova hut and must say the lady is very friendly. I always come with my retriever, so Tara (retriever) runs around everywhere, the lady always brings him dog biscuits or gives him some dried bone. Crazy friendly lady!!!
